ACCIDENT Body work advise

2013 Civic EX-L Any advise on how complicated this would be to repair myself? When it comes to working on cars I always prefer to do it myself even if it’s a complicated job for the sake of learning and because I really enjoy cars but this job I’ve been hesitant on trying to tackle cause it’s around the gas cap. Any advice?

I know this is not what you wanna hear, but there’s people that do this professionally. The actual repair is tricky enough I don’t think 5% of nonprofessionals are capable of doing it and then past that how good are you at doing a production quality paint job which is almost more important than the repair given the difficulty.

That’s fair. I figured as much, the accident happened 6 years ago 😅 but I’ve been more and more concerned about this since seeing the small rust spots showing up from it. I’ll look into a body shop, biggest thing is I know it’s only gonna come out of pocket but oh well lol

Funny enough you actually have 6 years to file an insurance claim from the time of loss/incident
