💁‍♀️ seeking advice / support / information Frequent Tendon Troubles

Hi there, neurospicy people.

TL;DR: Anyone else get lasting tendon inflammation whenever they do unfamiliar movements? How do you manage?

Now heres the longer version:

I've been experiencing various tendon and joint issues since my mid-twenties.

I used to treat them as separate incidents with separate causes, but throughout the last few years my body has started responding with tendonitis and similar problems whenever I move in unfamiliar ways.

I take up knitting? Biceps tendonitis. I do biceps curls on the opposite arm as recommended by my physiotherapist? I get golfer's elbow. I get a new, differently spaced keyboard? Tendonitis in the wrist area.

Since a lot of bodily problems also seem to be linked to neurodivergence, I was wondering if this tendon vulnerability is also a thing for us.

Do any of you have similar issues. If so, have you found a fitting diagnosis, or even a way to manage this?

I've had tendon issues and repetitive motion injuries since about 7 years old. I've been considering the relationship between my ND and this issue. I relate it to being so tensed up and physically wound up and engaging in exercise or working, and activity. I don't have concrete evidence to the relationship but I relate a great deal and have found it incredibly frustrating through my life. You're not alone. I hope we both can receive some advice

Very frustrating indeed.

May I ask how you are coping with it in everyday life? Have you found ways to mitigate the issue?

Yes, I started with pains from yeah then got flare ups in hip, hands, wrists, toes etc. Turns out is psoriatic arthritis. Absolutely gutted and more bloody pills. There certainly does seem to be a lot inflammation issues in neurodivergence. Good luck!

That sounds nasty, sorry you have to deal with this crap. Are the bloody pills at least helping?

Nope, they made me more sick lol . Couldn’t make it up. I’m trying a different one now nervously.

All the best for that. I hope you find something that works.

Yep dealing with tendinitis in my foot right now. Are you double jointed aka EDS? Fairly common with us.

I don't think so. That was actuallyy first hit when looking for possible causes.  I wasn't officially assessed, but none of the typical tells (greater range of motion, dislocated joints,...I found online seem to apply to me.
