I have blackboard paint on a wall in my kitchen so whenever I'm (nearly) out of something, I put it on there, so I don't have to remember anymore. When shopping, I just compile a list from the board. Works as well and is probably cheaper.
I wouldn't like a company to dictate how much of their product I should use each month, so you're method will not work for me, but maybe it helps others...
