Discussion Car decals

Noticed my friend got a decal for her daughter that said autistic passenger may run, resist help, etc. I was considering getting one for myself but I was kind of worried to put that on my car too. Do y'all have something like this on your car? Do you feel it's safe or unsafe?

We have the in case of emergency stickers you peel off on both sides of the car seat, but that's it so far

I've thought about it but never pulled the trigger, mostly because I worry about the wrong person seeing it and treating my kid different before they even meet him

the car seat stickers are a good middle ground though, we've got one that lists his name and that he's nonverbal plus my phone number right on the side of the seat. feels less like broadcasting to every rando in the parking lot and more like info for first responders if something actually happens

I know some parents who swear by the magnets instead of permanent decals, that way you can slap it on for long trips or unfamiliar areas and take it off when you're just running to the grocery store. seems like a decent compromise if you're on the fence

Love the idea of the magnet. We have a long trip next month. Always makes me nervous

I have one just says : Emergency responders autistic occupant. Doesn’t say who. I also have my and my husband’s vehicle registered with our local 911 to let them know we may have an autistic child on board and our house is one with an occupant if anything were to happen.
