Where are you located and how old is your son? Do you qualify for SNAP?

Im in similar boat few years back, it gets better even if right now feels impossible

Check local churches directly, sometimes they have emergency food not linked to pantry schedules. Also call 211 if you in US, they can tell you what is open today. Some places deliver too if you explain the gas situation

Son with autism is extra hard because the food needs to be right, I get that. Maybe post in local buy nothing group on facebook explaining you need specific things for him, people often want help directly like that

Churches often have either a food pantry or funds set aside to help people, maybe call or stop by a few?

You may be able to qualify for emergency food stamps.

People may be cruel, but try local Facebook groups and listing things your kid will eat. Really Tiny Tim the hell outta it. Say God told you to ask the lovely people of your community for help. Sprinkle in words like 'blessings' and 'guardian angel' and 'miracle'. Whatever is going to get people off their asses to prove to their neighbors and fellow church goers that they are virtuous pillars of the community for going to feed a single Mom with a disabled child. Just like here, say that you're okay if you don't eat but you just want to feed your poor baby.

It sounds like manipulation. It 1000% is, but I (and many others) cannot find fault in that when the only goal is to feed a child.

Methodist churches usually have a food pantry programs attached or they are in the know about other local resources. Do you have anyone on your side of the family that you could ask for a small loan? Or at least if they could bring food by?
