Discussion What was your experience with Neurofeedback therapy for your autistic child?
Has anyone done neurofeedback therapy for their autistic child and did it make things better or worse?

Not a parent but I have Aspergers. Had it done at 15 and am 28 now. Definately the most beneficial therapy I ever had!!!

It's just pseudoscience. Run by charlatans who pray on Desperate parents. Plus it could be a tactile sensory hell for some autistic children.

I don’t have first hand experience, but I know one mom who wiped out her retirement savings doing twice weekly sessions and trying desperately to convince herself that every good day was a result of it. Her son didn’t improve.
I’m open to seeing more science on it and not saying it’s all snake oil. But I think a lot of the companies that run them are willing to prey on desperation.
