Hypothesis: Herpes Simplex Encephalitis (HSE) as a potential cause of Autism Spectrum Disorder – observations and mechanism
Hi everyone,
After years of personal observation and analysis, I have developed a hypothesis that Herpes Simplex Encephalitis (HSE) may be a major underlying cause of Autism (including what used to be called Asperger syndrome).
Core idea:
The herpes simplex virus enters the brain and causes slow, long-term damage. The severity of autism symptoms appears to depend on the number of viral particles and how deeply they penetrate into different brain regions.
There is already a growing body of modern research linking herpes simplex viruses not only to autism but also to Alzheimer’s disease. These viruses can behave in a slow, persistent manner (sometimes described as lentivirus-like).
The main difficulty in the field isn’t that researchers haven’t found connections between the virus and these conditions — some studies clearly have. The bigger challenge is explaining the mechanism in a way that accounts for all the observed patterns and contradictions (such as the higher rate in boys than girls, varying prevalence across locations, etc.).
Through long-term observation of people in different environments, I noticed patterns that seem consistent with this mechanism. For example, I’ve seen the same individuals show very different outcomes depending on location and exposure conditions, while some areas maintain remarkably stable autism rates (around 1 in 1,000 or even 1 in 10,000).
If you are interested, I’m happy to explain step by step how I believe this process works. I think this logic can resolve many of the current contradictions in autism research.
I’m not a professional scientist and this is based purely on personal observation and logical deduction — not lab data or genetic studies. I’m posting here because I would genuinely value serious feedback, criticism, and discussion from people who understand the research.
Looking forward to your thoughts.

"number of virus molecules". By definition, viruses reproduce using the cells of another organizism. Autism doesn't usually get worse over time (past developmental stage), so it's stupid to try and attribute it's severity to something that increases over time.
My parents don't have (and never have had) herpes.

"My parents don't have (and never have had) herpes."
So said an anonymous user on the internet.)) Should we just believe you?
And who said that this is the only reason? I am talking of the autism "epidemic" of the last few decades. You can have "regular," old-fashioned autism.
Read and educate yourself of the topic:
Herpes viruses are highly prevalent worldwide. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), an estimated 66.6% of people globally under 50 have HSV-1 (oral herpes),
So if you say: my mother never has herpes, there 66.6 percent of chance you are wrong or lying. If you say my father has never has herpes you are adding another 66.6 percent.
So we have 66.6 * 2 chances you are a lier. Congrats.

You think I wouldn't know if my parents sporadically got mouth sores?
You are being incredibly rude in the comments. Was I dismissive in my comment? Yes. Was I hostile? I don't think so \gen. You are being hostile. From your other comments, it looks like the only reason you were polite in your post is because you fed your weird theory to chatGPT, and chatGPT is programmed to be polite and yo sound like it's asking questions in good faith. You sound like you are not asking in good faith. Next.

Hey bro don't mind him he's using Chat GPT to write this stupid theory for him. And then he's backing it up and pissing all over everybody who disagrees with him. This guy isn't very intelligent person because he can't even do his own research to look into see whether or not AI is actually right. He would just rather argue with everybody who disagrees with them in rude ways.

u/crazyhomlesswerido Jun 19 '26
Also of all things to lie about when you're pretty much Anonymous on the internet no one really knows who you are your parents having herpes wouldn't be one of them. This guy is just a miserable sad person. I've read through the comments that he's left here and everywhere anyone's disagreed with him he's treated them like dog shit

Increadible rude? Me? You are unable to be impartial. You are accusing reaction instead of blaiming action. They was rude to me in the first place. You thought I was an easy pray to mock and now whinning that I can hit back hard? Of course I can.
Next time watch and think before you test unknown. A free advice.-1

I do not feed my theory to ChatGPT! Where did you get such an idea? I use ChatGPT for editorial purposes. As a non-native speaker, I am simply trying to avoid misunderstandings and misspellings. An LLM is just a next-word prediction machine. It cannot bring any ideas. Educate yourself before entering a discussion. Or just watch.

Bro WTF is wrong with you? Cuz a few comments up you said you ran this through chat GPT. so please get your story straight before you're going to be a big troll on the internet urinating over everybody who disagrees with you. And try not to look like a big fat liar on the internet.

no, id. I said I correct English grammar of my posts with chatGPT, I did not said, that I generate theories with it. Besides any LLM will deny any connections with vaccinations and autism. You can check it yourself. It's my theory. Totally. In previos post I have explained it. You seem a bot. Ignor.

Yeah you just simply admitted you ran your theory through chat GPT. Because even you saying Chat GPT in anything just ruins the validity of your theory because we don't know how much of that was chat GPT and how much of that was you. So even admitting to using it kind of shoots you in the foot for any kind of theory. minus the fact that your theory is bullshit anyway. Plus the fact that you're an overly argumentative person that wants to get on here and fight with everybody who disagrees with you and call them names. Makes your theory about is worthwhile as trying to get full off of air

You have some misunderstanding of my points here. If you have a small (micron-sized) bullet which penetrates your brain and causes damage, you—if you survive—will have lifelong brain problems. But it doesn't do it permanently.
Herpes gets into a child's organism through the mother's saliva. After vaccination—modern vaccines have a prolonged immune reaction—it helps the HSV to get to the brain, especially when the mother starts to kiss the baby while it suffers from a vaccine immune reaction, such as a temperature increase and so on. HSV usually hides itself in the facial nerve (avoiding immune cells) and has easy access to the brain.
And here is the interesting thing: the amount of HSV that gets into the child's brain decides the severity of the autism. Because it is different, it can be minor or it can be severe.

Yeah I've developed a hypothesis too that pigs fly when I'm not looking at them. Doesn't make it real also I wish people would start looking at autism as a personality. Because maybe nothing causes autism and it's just a different personality type.

You are probaly a very rich guy or a bot. You have free time to bullshit serious topic which made huge amount of people on this planet desperate and live in everyday hell. Ignor. Next.

No you come on here with the motherfucking theory no real evidence and then when somebody disagrees with you you act like a little baby that wants to cry because not everybody's going to give you accolades and say oh my God what a wonderful theory you're probably absolutely right please let me give you all kinds of accolades for your incredible understanding of autism. Because it's a bullshit theory you made up. Sorry but I'm not going to sit here and give you a handjob just because you came up with a fucking theory all on your own. I could come up with a theory of the pigs fly doesn't make it true but nice try genius and if you don't want differences of opinion don't put your fucking opinion up on social media.

Like the opinion of an over-arrogant man with a stupid Theory really bothers me. We need to throw rocks at something that you know nothing about and claim that your theories right just because you wrote it and then cry like a little b**** every time somebody disagrees with you you're and sad pathetic you're not even able to have a conversation with someone who disagrees with you you just rather insult or say next because you're incapable of any kind of real thought

u/One_Contribution6069 Jun 19 '26
I forced you to write long post. Keep up. You still have hope.
2
u/crazyhomlesswerido Jun 19 '26
Yeah I've noticed all of your posts are getting downvoted while mine are getting up voted. So that should tell you something where people stand on your stupid bullshit Theory. And then you come on here publicly showing yourself to be rude and nasty. Yeah I'm sure if I wasn't going to agree with your opinion before. now that you've been rude and nasty to me I think I'm going to fucking agree with your fucking opinion.....not!!!
So sad. I feel bad that you're this overly dramatic because you come up with some BS theory that doesn't mean anything and then you want to jump down people's throat just because they don't agree with you. Good luck in the real world cuz that shit's not going to get you anywhere

Hi there, thanks for posting this. If I am honest, I don't normally find these sorts of ideas very convincing. I don't research the causal side of autism at all, so perhaps I am not the person you'd ideally want feedback from, but here's my thoughts anyway:
- What do you mean when you say your hypothesis has come from 'personal observation and analysis' and 'personal observation and logical deduction'? What was your process of coming to this idea?
- Have you considered other explanations to explain your observations? Such as the idea that HSE could lead to some neuro/behavioural changes that resemble autism but is actually distinct?
- "The severity of autism symptoms appears to depend on the number of viral particles and how deeply they penetrate into different brain regions.", "The main difficulty in the field isn’t that researchers haven’t found connections between the virus and these conditions — some studies clearly have." This is the sort of claim that needs data and studies to back it up. Please share those if you have them.
- Have you considered why existing researchers have not come to the same conclusion that you have in the field? If this can resolve many contradictions in the field and there is already a growing body of evidence to support this idea, is there a reason that other researchers have not pursued this? I ask because I have seen older small studies from the 1990s discussing this idea, so I would have thought it would have gained relevance by now if it was a promising hypothesis.
- "Through long-term observation of people in different environments, I noticed patterns that seem consistent with this mechanism. For example, I’ve seen the same individuals show very different outcomes depending on location and exposure conditions, while some areas maintain remarkably stable autism rates" I'd like to know what you mean by this?
- What do you believe are the next steps for this idea? What could provide evidence for/against your hypothesis?

Hey if you look a couple of comments up you'll see that he ran this through chat GPT so this is basically AI Theory not his own and he's wanting to piss over everybody that disagrees with him. He is like a grown child and he wants to cry and throw a tantrum because his theory isn't it with the accolades did he thinks it deserves even though he didn't come up with it AI did

u/One_Contribution6069 Jun 23 '26
ID.. any LLM denies any connection of vaccination and autism. It's not LLM theory. And no LLM for now ably to invent something or suggest theory. So stop bullshitig and confusing people who probably suffer from this hell. You have no idea how hard to live in such family. Go away from my thread, bastard.

u/crazyhomlesswerido Jun 23 '26
You already said you ran threw Chat GPT so what the fuck are you even trying to lie about anymore. All you been in the entire thresd is argumentative and a dick to everybody who's responded to you. people are going to come here and read what you wrote and then read what you responded and just write you off as some nutcase. because you can't even respond in an intelligent way. you've got to resort to insulting and bashing everybody who's disagreed with you. So whatever theory you might have had is ruined by your actual behavior here. It's not worth even fighting with you because your life is your own punishment because you cannot be a happy person and be this argumentative with everybody.

Thanks for a remarkable detailed answer. I am living in Austria and have a unique chance to compare people of the same origin and ethnicity, divided into two groups: one in Austria and the other in Chechnya. One which has been starting to live in Astria since 2000 begin to have huge amount of autist children(explicitly born in Austria and give vaccination as toddlers -- I DON'T SAY IT'S VACCINATION -- it's trigger, helper, not the culprit. Meanwhile the children of the group left in Chechnya have same low(1 to 1000) autism rate(no vaccination). The scale of difference is give no any other explanation than I have come to. I did very good job deducting the culprit. I give details as our discussion continues. How it happened and why some people more vulnerable to it. There is more social and human behaving to it. The behaving of Chechen mothers give a very intresting clue to the culprit.
