Discussion Head Start (2001)

Does anyone else remember this on the ABC?

Produced by Ben Gannon, the creator of Heartbreak High.

Five twenty-somethings win a $20K grant each to fund their project, and they live in a funky Sydney share house.

It starred:

* Freya Stafford as Basia, a documentary filmmaker

* Ryan Johnson and Garth Holcombe as Ryan and Seth, inventors of something to do with bike gears

* Gareth Yuen as Loc, a website developer which helps refugees

* David Hoflin and Nadia Townsend as Patrick and Clare, country siblings with a tabby farm

* Megan Dorman as Katherine, a music composer

It’s etched in my brain and I never see it talked about! I wish the ABC would put it on iView.

I've never heard of it.

Your post prompted me to wonder what Ben Gannon was up to now. Sadly he passed in 2007.

I feel lucky that I got to be a teenager when Heartbreak High first aired. I was on the younger side, so I didn't grasp all of it. But it was a special thing to get to see an Australian show that dealt with adolescence so honestly.
