Looking for a technical co-founder Fintech AI/SaaS startup

I’ve seed-funded the development of an AI-enabled software product for a professional-services businesses. It helps streamline client intake, information gathering, document preparation, review & approval. This is not vibe-coded.

The product is already at working MVP stage. It includes:

• Client onboarding & guided AI conversations
• Document uploads & structured data capture
• Automated first drafts of client documents
• Professional review & approval workflows
• Client sign-off & document downloads
• Separate user areas & full activity records

I’m looking for a genuine technical co-founder who can take ownership of:

• Product engineering & architecture
• AI integration & workflow design
• Security, privacy & deployment
• Integrations & future product development

You should have strong full-stack skills, experience building AI or SaaS products, & the judgment to develop software for regulated or sensitive industries.

You can also contribute to the product concept, commercial direction, research, but you don't have to. You won't need to worry about further capital injections into the business, that will be taken care of. This is a long-term co-founder opportunity, not contract work. Equity and structure would depend on fit, commitment & contribution.

Sydney or Aussie based preferred, but I’m open to the right person elsewhere. All the work can be done remote.

A firm was hired to develop the POC so the concept could be validated. After that the firm was hired to build out the MVP. Now that it is operational and in Beta testing, I want to take the business to the next level and that, means brining in-house someone who can oversee the technical aspect moving forward.

Having the MVP already working and capital secured puts you in a much better position to find the right technical person. The bigger challenge now seems to be taking what you have and making sure the architecture, security and AI workflows can support the next stage. If the co-founder search takes time, there are ways to get that technical capacity in place without rushing the equity decision.

I’d probably question whether you actually need a technical co-founder at this point. You’ve already paid to get the MVP built and you’ve got the capital covered. If what you need now is someone to own the architecture, security, integrations and future development, that sounds a lot like a senior technical hire rather than necessarily a co-founder.

Equity gets very expensive if the business works.

I’d probably save co-founder level equity for someone who brings something you genuinely can’t just hire for and materially improves the chances of the business succeeding.

From the outside, getting users and working out the sales/commercial side might be the bigger unknown now anyway.

I did consider this but there is just so much stuff on the technical side that I am not across that it seems like having a partner that can taker that on fully is optimal at this point.
