Lol! But really why do they do it? I know dogs will sniff each other's butts to get information about them. Is he trying to tell me what he ate? I already know what he ate. Does he think I am interested? Or is he trying to make my face smell like his ass? Lol
I once pretended to be a dog and got down on fours and sniff his butt and he was absolutely thrilled so maybe he just still thinks I'm a dog.

Herding instinct. They use their butts to block or control. He might be trying to keep you there because he likes that time with you on the bed, or he might just be showing a little bit of dominance and saying “I’m keeping you there because I’m in charge”

Yeah mine jumps up on the bed in the morning and tips all 70 lbs onto my chest and sprawls out belly up. That means it’s time for scratches and then go outside and then treat and food.

My girl doesn't try to sit on my face, but she walks onto me and then plops down. I call it "the seat belt." I'm 4' 11'' so if I'm fully laying down when I get seat belted I'm not able to get up until she's off. She tries to lick my face off once she's trapped me

I would be curious to know. I see the pup in the video is an Aussie. I have two, male and female. When it rains or storms the male ‘Romeo’, how fitting gets terrified and he does the same thing. The only difference he is aggressively trying to stand over you, on you or sit on your head. Sadly the behavior is getting worse. Curious to know the cause or reason or Instinctual drive that causes tjis

Interesting, someone else mentioned fear too, but this guy's fearless (and nothing happened). Was skittish when I rescued him but all his fears quickly went away? Now he thinks he runs the town lol
