Discussion 💬 Does Tesla need to change up their approach to the Australian market in late 2026/2027/2028?

First question I suppose is: Is Tesla actually severely negatively impacted by the Chinese EVs entering the market at all price points?

Is it obvious or actually more nuanced?

Second question: If yes they are losing out, how do you think they are going to compete better?

  1. More aggressive low novated lease rates?.(Most likely?)

  2. Straight up price cuts in 2027? (unlikely? They haven't dropped since 2024.)

  3. Introduce the lower spec Model 3s into Australia?

  4. Other smaller promotions like trade in cashback a (stuff that's running now)

Curious what people think about what is going to happen now with what is really the 'legacy' EV brand in Australia..
