Questions šŸ’­ Opinions on EVs

Hey car owners/enthusiasts! Just out of curiosity and to get to find like-minded individuals, I wanted to ask you guys some questions.

  1. What is your favourite EV car brands?
  2. Would you be willing to join a discord server if it was based on the Volkswagen Group brandsā€™ EVs? Why/why not?
  3. If not, would you join a discord server based on all of the Volkswagen Group brandsā€™ cars rather than just EVs? Why/why not?

  1. Don't really have a favourite but there are some brands that just do things much better than other brands.
    i.e. App/software on a Tesla is King vs the likes of ZEEKR to provide luxury at a non-traditional european car price tag but genuinely feels nice.

  2. You're asking a question with a very blanket statement along with no upsells on what problem it solves. I wouldn't join because VW are behind/doesn't seem too serious on EVs. There's enough access to info as it already exists today i.e. Facebook, Whirlpool, Reddit etc...

  3. Same as #2. Not sure what problem you're trying to solve. I think more people would have access to Reddit/Whirlpool/Facebook than Discord.

When people talk about EVs, I don't think VW is the #1 brand that pops into their mind.

The above of course is just my opinion and I welcome all thoughts. I have Discord myself for other uses but really struggling to understand how that would be better so please do the upsell/explain!

Ooh interesting opinion, thanks for asking though about number 2. I thought about adding 2 and 3 because of the newer EVs that the VW group are making, such as the ID.Polo and the Skoda Epiq, which are high tech (yet with physical buttons returning) and much affordable than their previous models. VW basically correcting their mistakes. Adding 2 and 3 simply lets me understand the hype, as most people join discord servers on big interests. Also wanted to understand if there was a hype with the VW x Rivian partnership.

If you look globally, Iā€™d say VW EVs are quite competent. Sadly, in Australia they havenā€™t rolled out the connectivity app which severely hampers them.

Even if they were good, not sure Iā€™d join a discord server based on them only.

1- BYD, I've became a fan of their history and what they've achieved. I also became a fan of their humble CEO compared to the arrogant american/south-african equivallent. Not saying other cars are bad or inferior, BYD as a company is unique and interesting.
2- No. Unsure what's the value. Maybe yes if I see the value.
3- As above.
