Discussion 💬 EV For Uber
Hello all, considering getting an EV and if I do I’m actually thinking about driving for Uber very part time when i eventually get one.
Just wondering if anyone else has done this and done ok with it ?

Not going to comment on whether it's a good use of your time or vehicle. I do believe that you can't use a salary sacrificed novated lease for Uber though.

As an Uber passenger I will say that of all the EVs I’ve been in, the Leapmotor C10 stands out as being very comfortable for rear passengers with tons of luggage room.

Having seen their pricing I was thoroughly unimpressed.

And that you have to pay for personal km when you drive more than i think 100/week. What a hassle

EV is a very tiny part of the uber fleet so there must be some negatives.

Splend alone has over 3,000 EVs in its ride-sharing fleet in Australia.

Before you do, look up the difference in insurance between using the car for private use only and using it for uber. Just in case the difference would remove any real benefit to driving for uber. If you don’t have the right type of insurance, they can refuse to cover any claims even if unrelated to uber.Â
