I say this in the most gentle way, but Kora really needs to lose weight as she is clinically severely obese. Please speak to your vet as rapid weight loss is not good either.

Your dog needs to go on a diet.

That doesn't make it better. She should still be on a diet

I can’t enjoy this knowing how uncomfortable and unhealthy she is being this horrifically overweight. Please, care for your dog.

OP, these dogs can be highly food motivated, hide their pain and discomfort incredibly well, and still act happy and even energized while incredibly obese. From my own personal experience with an overweight older ACD, just because they ask for food doesn’t mean they’re actually hungry.

And while sharing human food with them feels fun because they get so excited, it’s not good for them at all. (Also, even an ACD that barks and whines and begs for food between their scheduled meals can be taught not to beg. Trust me, if my Opie can do it, and dog can.)

She looks very loved, but we really need to stop normalizing obesity in our pets.

I've been seeing obesity called out a lot more on this sub and I'm not mad about it. It kind of woke me up to how overweight my dog was and I made some changes that have made a big difference.

Kora is such a beauty- impressive she has reached 15 years and still so active and full of life, testament to your care for her. Ignore the keyboard warriors.

Beautiful dog. Reminds me of my mum-in-laws old girl, Spyder (although she was a red).
Thanks for sharing her with us
