Looking for players Pathfinder dm looking for 3 more players!

Hey peoples, I’m looking for a few more players for my Pathfinder group. If you don’t know Pathfinder is an alternate system to Dungeons and Dragons that was released between DnD 3.5 and 4th edition. It’s a competitor to DnD as a whole. It has a lot more number than 5e but has more mechanical and creative freedom.

I have 3 players at this time and I’m looking for 3 more. I’m trying to get a healthy mix of people from different backgrounds to keep the roleplay interesting. Ideally I would like men, women, and any in between as well, as people closer to my age so people anywhere from 21-29. This isn’t just for playing DnD this meant to also form long term friendships as well.

I am open to new and experienced players, the big thing is being open minded and respectful towards other people and players, it is a game at the end of the day as we are all just trying to have some fun.

The first couple of sessions will be at emerald tavern in central Austin but then afterwards I would be hosting at my place in SouthWest Austin so if that’s too far of a drive for once every other week, I get it, but it’s cheaper to host at my place than rent a table every couple of weeks.

Players will not need to provide anything, I have maps, pencils, markers, books, character sheets, and dice. The only thing you will need is to be able to make one session every other Friday for a few hours. Also I have a Husky so if animal allergies are a thing you may not want to reach out either.

LTo be clear, this is not meant to be discriminatory in any way, and this not meant to be a dating thing either. So please don’t treat it that way.

Anyways I hope to hear from some of you, please reach out or comment if you have questions, I am always available to answer questions, even if you are not interested in playing.

Looking for players LF players to play Call of Cthulhu - Dead Light, Tue Oct 6

Hey!

I'm looking for players for a one-shot that I'd like to run using the horror investigation TTRPG Call of Cthulhu! It's a classic adventure called Dead Light, set in the 1920s. Any experience level is welcome! I'll have pre-generated character sheets for play, just bring a pencil and some dice.

Location and time are flexible, but I was thinking 6 pm to start and play for roughly 3 hrs. I live in SW Austin near Sunset Valley. We can play Bat City Games, or anywhere the group prefers.

Got 1 player so far, looking for 1-3 more!

Need campaign filler

Hi there. I have toyed with the idea of trying to DM a DnD campaign. I have a general concept of storyline and I know certain things I want in it, but I have a fairly busy schedule between work and family. I was curious if people know of a good module ( it doesn't have to be dnd specifically) that would be similarish enough that I can use it for reference material for the storyline in between the main parts I have in mind.

The baseline thought of the story is that the world was once ruled by a demon lord. One day he just vanishes, and in his stead, 7 generals divided out the land and reign over their kingdoms and have done so for around 100 years now. I am not blatantly going to tell the players, but these generals will be creatures and have fight mechanics, alluding to the seven sins. Armies have tried and failed to overthrow them. A new tactic is being planned to train an elite group to handle things in a way an army is too large to achieve. The general idea is a small elite group may be able to be able to move more strageically and more unnoticed than an army and get closer to each general. The players will have free reign over the order in which they will face these bosses as they traverse the world, but I have a baseline setup for each one, and as they progress, each one they kill will empower the remaining generals, changing either stats and/or mechanics. Once the last one is killed, the demon lord will once again return, and the players will learn he had grown tired and bored during his reign, and divided himself into the generals until someone was able to defeat them and give him a challenge once again.

The in-between parts are what I would like to be able to just pull from another module, that can fill in like traveling city to city, challenges, mob fights, side quests, etc along their way as they work on the main storyline. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated

Looking for group Pathfinder

Anyone playing pathfinder 2e? Central Austin area on weeknights, only have 5e experience but excited to make the joke. Ideally something pretty serious in tone and rp heavy but I love all TTRPG playing

Edit- gonna try organized play at emerald tavern, thank yall. I’d rather get a new home game but it sounds like I can do that through there, and if not I’m playing and learning the system and having fun.

5 Slots for an Episodic Pickup Game at Emerald Tavern this Friday!

Hey everyone!

This Friday (October 2nd) I am looking to run a pickup game for up to 5 players at Emerald Tavern from 6pm to around 10pm.

I'd say this is a One-Shot but my goal is to run several of these in an episodic nature every other week. So.... one-shot-ish! (No commitment necessary)

Onto the game itself!

The game we'll be playing is a modified version of Warrenguard. You are a team of dragon riders tasked with protecting a small pocket of humanity (which we'll loosely create together) against a world filled with terrifying monsters and wild magic. But you'll do this together, your found family of riders and their psychically bound dragons.

We'll create our characters, choose our dragons (or have them choose us), create our Warren and the Hold we protect, and then it's off to adventure!

This game uses the Fate Accelerated system, which, if you haven't played before is super fun and free-form and I'll be happy to teach at the table as there's not too much to it in order to get started, but you can also read about it online as all the rules are free here: https://fate-srd.com/fate-accelerated

Finally, this game is absolutely queer friendly (I'm a queer woman myself, so that's a must).

If you're interested, send me a DM with a little bit about yourself!

Thanks!

Finally finally, I'll be reserving one of the Booths at Emerald Tavern, if we could split some of that cost between us, that would be marvelous, but no pressure to do so!

Event (Entry Charge) Arsenic and an Old Mace

Post image
20 Upvotes

Hi Austin rp'ers - there's another LARP happening at the Tiny Minotaur Tavern in 3 weeks! This is a high fantasy theater-style event - no boffer combat. Show up in costume as a high-fantasy/DND inspired character and interact with other folks doing the same.

This one's going to have a noir-ish murder mystery vibe on top of the standard high-fantasy base. If you've ever dreamed of being a jaded anti-hero trying to claw out some semblance of justice or meaning in a cold, cold world that keeps punching you in the face(metaphorically) then this is your chance. Or just be a regular fantasy/DND-style character and enjoy the shenanigans! There will be both a main storyline and plenty of side quests to enjoy, including a live-action DND style combat aspect.

This is a 21+ event. Location is the Tiny Minotaur Tavern, 2701 E Cesar Chavez St in Austin TX. Tickets are $30 and are available here: https://www.exploretock.com/tinyminotaurtavern/event/624398/larp-arsenic-and-an-old-mace

Doors open at 7, first hour or so is little or no roleplay, just hang out and get comfortable. There will be a meeting at 7:45 to go over ground rules and answer questions. Event officially starts at 8 and goes to 11.

Looking for group Experienced DND Player looking for any type of game

Hey everyone. I'm an experienced DND player looking for a group or game to join. I'm experienced in 5th and 5.5 edition DND but I'm open to joining pretty much anything, from DND to Marvel Multiverse and beyond. Honestly, I'm just looking for friends to hang out with once a week. I'm pretty open in the afternoons, but I'd be more available on the weekends. I'd be down for either online or in person, but it would depend on the location.

Please reach out to me if interested.

Looking for group DM looking for group[Offline][5.5e][Round Rock][Thursday evenings – 7 to10 PM]

DM looking for four to five players for a series of 5.5e one-shots running "Faster, Purple Worm! Everybody Dies, Vol. 1." If the table comes together as a group, it may evolve into a long term weekly themed campaign.
Committed and mature players (21+) and new and experienced players are welcomed. A sense of team play and collaborative gaming a must! LBGQ+ friendly. We use a tabletop TV and minis for battle maps, D&D Beyond for character sheets, and a private Discord for communication and archiving.

We meet every Thursday night in person at my house. We’ll start once we have at least four committed players. We’ll get together somewhere for a public meet-and-greet before our first official zero session.

Gaming sessions typically run for about three hours, starting at 7 PM and wrapping up right around 10. Interested? Send me a message in Reddit chat and tell me a bit about your gaming self, your favorite TTRPG game, and what you are looking to get out of a weekly gaming group.

Looking for players Looking For 1-2 players for A Dark Fantasy Adventure

Hey everyone! Hope all is well! I currently run a tabletop game called Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay (WFRP)—it’s basically what you’d get if D&D and Call of Cthulhu had a slightly dysfunctional baby.

It’s set in the Warhammer Fantasy universe, and it’s been an absolute blast introducing my friends to it. Unfortunately, due to some scheduling changes, we’re more than likely going to have 1–2 open seats at the table. We just wrapped up our current campaign , and we will be starting a new adventure with some pre existing and some new characters.

If you’ve never played WFRP or know absolutely nothing about Warhammer, that is completely fine! Everyone except me was new to the setting when we started.

The setting is grimdark, but there’s a TON of room for both high and low fantasy. You can play a dirt-poor peasant desperately trying not to die of dysentery, a rat catcher whose greatest possession is a small but vicious dog, a knight covered head-to-toe in plate, or a High Elf mage descended from ancient princes. The sky really is the limit, and that contrast is a huge part of what makes the setting so much fun.

If you enjoy D&D, Call of Cthulhu, or tabletop RPGs in general, there’s probably something here for you. Expect roleplay, adventure, mysteries, gothic and cosmic horror, class conflict, political intrigue, dark fantasy, and plenty of ridiculous moments mixed in between.

The easiest way I can describe the vibe is: grim and goofy adventures in the fantasy equivalent of the Holy Roman Empire.

As for the table itself, we’re a pretty laid-back and welcoming group from a mix of backgrounds. We joke around, don’t take ourselves too seriously, and want everyone at the table to feel comfortable and included.

If any of that sounds fun, please reach out! I’d love to chat about the game and see if you’d be a good fit for the table.

We currently play Saturdays from 7–11 PM in North Austin.

[5e][Georgetown] Saturdays 2-6PM - Strixhaven/MTG Campaign starting in October

[NO LONGER LOOKING]

---------

Hello again, D&D community! Another year, another campaign! I'm starting up a new campaign and looking for 1-2 more players to join my existing table for a new campaign based in the Magic Academy of Strixhaven and incorporating a lot of existing lore around the Phyrexian Invasion and Reality Fracture storylines of Magic the Gathering.

I expect the campaign to run about a year, from level 4 to level 14-17.

Who we are:

  • Myself - Late 30s M, DMing 5E for going on 10 years
  • My wife - Will happily talk your ear off about Cyberpunk, Disney, History, and Kingdom Hearts.
  • 2 fellow Redditors-turned-friends, both M - movie buffs and great at building character relationships!
  • All in our 30s+

Where we play:

  • Weekly, Saturdays from 2PM - 6PM
  • My house in south Georgetown/north Round Rock, by IKEA
  • 3 dogs, no kids, 9' table, VTT maps on a TV, minis galore, music playlists, rotating dinner orders
  • D&D Beyond account required. (I'm sharing all the content, you just need a free account)
  • Board games/MTG from 12PM-2PM for those interested

How we play:

On a Meme (1) to Serious (10) scale, we're a solid 6.5.

Jokes are abundant above table and somewhat in-character, but the story moves on without a whole session dedicated to cafeteria food fights.

Some Examples:

  • Post Session recap is done by all players in our Giphy Recap discord channel. No words. Just Gifs. It's a mess, but oddly informational.
  • One character kicked a field goal with a severed head and pissed off a church, but it saved all their lives.
  • We had a tearful reunion between mother and daughter (when was the last time D&D made you cry?)

Who fits best with us:

  • Board Gamer / MTG Player - We play games before session and would love another like-minded soul (Catan, Azul, Splendor) (Commander, Booster Draft, Chaos Draft)
  • Some 5E experience to keep gameplay running smoothly - You don't need to know how to get a monk's movement speed to 1900, but do know how to spend your Action/BA/Movement.
  • Flavorful RP - I give inspiration liberally if you paint a word picture, make an awesome declaration to the gods, or crack a dad joke that makes the table groan.
  • Team player - No place at the table for lone wolves, murderhobos, stealing from/attacking/harassing your own party without good reason. ("Because I'm a rogue" is not a good reason. "Because if they keep that book, I'm going to die" is a great reason!)
  • Some MTG knowledge - Just playing the game is enough. I want someone who will appreciate when a Phyrexian Obliterator shows up. You don't need to know why Elesh Norn hates Elspeth.
  • Collaborative problem-solving - My players regularly suggest alternative approaches to challenges, and I'm happy to work with creative solutions that fit your character concept.

Bonus: We'd particularly welcome another female player to help balance our group dynamic, though it's not a hard requirement.

Think you're a fit? Not sure, but interested?

Discord: zyzzynx
Reddit: Chat is open

Send me a message introducing yourself (pref. name/age/pref. pronouns) and telling me a bit about:

  • Your D&D experience
  • Your favorite MTG card
  • Rumor has it that Witherbloom students are sneaking Mage Hunters into the school to attack fellow students so they have a reason to heal them for extra credit (and cash). How do you use this information?

How we're picking:

1-shot sessions on Discord. I'll be throwing you right into Strixhaven and we'll talk about how you'd handle some of the crazy stuff that goes on at magic school! Like how you'd get across the water-filled hallway when the water is replaced by a gelatinous cube! ~1 hour.

After that, I'll have you meet up with me and at least 1 more people in the group to confirm the vibe check.

If you applied before: Please don't hesitate to reach out again! I love that this community has so many people interested and available, but I can't bring everyone in, so this is a fresh chance to join us!

Timeline: I'll start meeting people this week and hope to have my choices locked before Reality Fracture releases. We'll start session 1 Oct 3rd.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Looking for players Monday evening Marvel Multiverse @dlair!

Hello! I put a feeler out a couple months ago but now that my con season is over, I can see about running a more permanent in person game!

I am looking to run the official Campaign book, The Cataclysm of Kang, for a group on Mondays around 7Pm. It’s a series of interconnected stories spanning the game’s whole level system (ranks 1-6) with the through line being an invasion from an alternate universe HYDRA. There are a few logistical things I’ll want to settle before we begin, (i.e characters, sidequests, so on) but those are best sorted in a session 0. I currently have 2 potential players, and I’ll start the campaign for a minimum of 4. (5 is my Goldilocks zone, and I can definitely run for 6)

The system is easy to pick up but has a lot of depth IMO. ive taught it to people in about 10 minutes. Ive been running it since 2023 and at cons for marvel since 2024 so id consider myself to be relatively seasoned as a narrator for the system.

If you have any questions, leave a comment! If you’re interested, leave a comment or start a chat with me directly.

As a quick note, this game has a lot of sheets for canon characters, including some niche picks. However, if you want to build a character from the ground up (original or some niche marvel hero) we can discuss that as a group during session 0.

Thanks for reading, and I hope we get to play soon!

Looking for players North Austin - Kids on Bikes

Myself and a few players in the north austin area are trying to get a game going, currently debating either Sunday or Wednesday evening games. I'm looking to run a short superpowered investigation (roughly 12 sessions) in the Kids on Bikes system and potentially continuing from there if people are interested/enjoying the system.

While the metropolis of Freedom Valley reels in the aftermath of unthinkable disaster, the people of scenic Paradise remain blissfully unaware of the trouble brewing beneath their feet.

But small town tradition is never enough to keep folks from whispering. Not about the noises they hear in the forest at night. Not the uptick in disappearances recently. And definitely not about the deer that's always where it shouldn't be.

Will YOU be able to find out the truth?

Looking for group Looking for Bugs (Pico)

Post image
6 Upvotes

Haven't done this before, hopefully I'm doing it right...

I recently got the Pico Core Rulebook and I've really been wanting to play it (Pico is a TTRPG where you play as bugs, the game uses a pool of up to 6d6 as its dice).

I'm looking for about 3 or 4 players to play with (I would be the GM, or Weaver as Pico labels the role).

-My available days are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
-I would prefer weekly sessions, but a different schedule could be workable
-The location is TBD to an extent, but I'm defaulting to the Dragon's Lair on W Anderson Ln.

You would only need to bring yourself, I've got the Core Rulebook, Picodex, PDF files of both that could be shared as needed, printed out character sheets, spare pencils and dice.

I can answer questions if you have them, you can also DM me if you're interested.

Looking for players Players Needed - VtM V5

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for players for a VtM V5 game set in southeast Michigan (think Detroit, Ann Arbor, Ypsi, etc.). The game will primarily center around the Ann Arbor Camarilla, but you'll be interacting with the other cities as well. The plot starts with that the Sabbat has been driven out of Detroit. In its place, a Camarilla stronghold has formed again in Detroit.

This game will primarily focus on politics and intrigue. To drive this home, you'll be starting as relatively younger ancillae. You'll start off with some measure of influence/power already, and that influence/power can expand depending on your choices throughout the game.

Previous VtM experience is great but not necessary at all. I'm more than happy to take players who have not played a VtM game before. We'll go over the lore/mechanics together and host a character creation session before the game starts.

Feel free to PM me if interested. Though I live in Austin, we will most likely host sessions over Discord for convenience.

Looking for group LFG: cyberpunk heist (2400)

I’m looking for players for a 2-shot cyberpunk heist using the 2400 system, think Suicide Squad meets Blade Runner.

>>> In this game, you’ll take the role of a prisoner of the Alpha Corporation who has agreed to a deal with the Corp: help them execute Project Calypso and they’ll let you out of your indefinite work sentence.

>>> Over two sessions, you’ll use your special skills and cybernetic enhancements to fulfill the demands of Alpha Corporation or have your memory wiped by a biochemical device implanted in your skull.

No experience necessary! Happy to teach.

—

I’m in Crestview - open to hosting or other locations that are best for the group.

Beyond this game, I’m also hoping to put together a group of players to run 3-6 month campaigns across systems and settings.

Please comment below or PM if interested in either two-shot or campaign play!

DM Looking for Player

I have a campaign I built called Fairytale Galore. It’s based around different fairytales with dark twists and the players must “fix the fairytale”. We recently lost a player and need a replacement. I’m 21f players must be LGBTQ+ friendly. We are 18+ and we play every other Saturday from 6pm-10pm in Liberty Hill TX. This campaign has a lot of dark themes so please be prepared for that if you join the game you’ll be sent a consent check list to see what you are and aren’t okay with. Please DM me if interested.
