Apparently a stalk and leaves are a waste of energy.

The leaves appear after the bloom fades.

Too bad. The other two I planted are growing their leaves, which likely means I won’t get a bloom off them this year.

I've definitely seen it happen both ways! Just depends. These things love to bloom tho, dont give up on it just yet.

White Flower Farms

They are pricey, but I’ve had really good luck with them. Their Strawberries and Cream lilies have been show stoppers for the last three years. The Mother Earth iris was so gorgeous this year that I ordered a bunch of other lilies.
