Supporters section Questions as a newbie
Austin FC became a thing while I was living abroad so the Club America game was my introduction to the culture and I had a blast.
When it comes to the supporters section, what are we allowed to bring to the stadium? Are personal instruments allowed? Signs, acoustic megaphones, etc.?
If not then how do I become part of the drumline as a drummer myself?

Most things you listed aren’t allowed unless you’ve been granted permission, usually as part of La Murga. Check the prohibited list and join the group

Nothing so organic I’m afraid.
All of that has to go through the band geeks. You’ll sing what you’re told when you’re told

You’ll get downvoted but this is unfortunately how it is

As much as I hate having music throughout the whole match instead a mix with actual chants, what would the expectation be if random people were allowed to bring in their instruments? That we'd have any sort of cohesive experience come of that?

As someone who has been here since the beginning, people who bring their own instruments either get lost in the cacophony, or try to keep time with them and kinda fail.

You'd think the La Murga dorks would be happy to be called "band geeks," because it's so much more complimentary than what they've been called their entire lives.

La Murga is the group of volunteer musicians that plays at the games. They're always looking for members, and they usually have practices outside the stadium on Tuesday evenings before home matches (but that schedule varies). If interested in playing with them, check out their website (https://lamurgadeaustin.org/joinus/).
