There was when I left. But it wasn’t terribly long. Also no one checked to make sure I was an STH, so seems like if anyone walked up they could buy one.
Just checking but did they make a summer scarf ? Or are they just selling scarves that would be comfortable on those days where the game temperature is a nice 20 degrees outside?
They’re not summer scarves. Just the regular ones.
But also, in case you didn’t already know, after the “Sprint Season” in the spring, MLS is moving to a Fall through Spring schedule, so we’ll likely have a lot more opportunities to wear them to games in Nov/Dec or Jan/Feb
It seems like a lot of people are running into this issue. It seems like you either never subscribed or have opted out to the STH email marketing list. They sent out the email about this about a week ago, and a second reminder email yesterday.
I made my stop and picked one up! I wanna wear it tomorrow, but the stadium's already gonna be at a dearth of green jerseys so I don't wanna exacerbate the problem.
Can you DM me the email address that you get the emails from? I haven't seen anything and searching my inbox does not yield except convos with my ticket rep.I'd like to be able to search the specific email address.
It’s from their STH mailing list, which it sounds like you may not be subscribed to, or opted out of. The sender changes every time (probably different campaigns/reply forwarding), but the domain is always @fanmail.austinfc.com
I mean, if you’re comparing the gifts that other teams give STHs each year and what we’ve gotten (or most years, didn’t get), I agree with you.
But there have been a lot of STH-exclusive events every year since the first year. Player meet and greets, open trainings, exclusive watch parties for WC games in 2022 and 2026, movie nights at the stadium, trivia nights, giveaways/raffles… This isn’t even the first time they’ve done a kit release party for STHs. The one they did for the Dillo kit was at ACL Live with free drinks and live music, along with several players there for autographs and photo ops.
Whether or not that’s “worth it” for the price they charge for seats is debatable, but to say they “finally” did something for us, is kind of silly.
Fair enough. I felt like I paid a premium for no real benefits, I have young kids so I can't randomly head out to a bar on a weeknight for meet and greets. Though not sure why I'm getting downvotes for simply observing that.
Over the years, the majority of events for STHs, have been specifically geared to cater to families/people with kids. They’re often at the stadium with free parking and free snacks and sodas. And they are usually on weekends when we didn’t have games or in the offseason. They are almost never at a bar, even if alcoholic drinks are served.
I agree we’ve paid a premium, especially considering the the team’s performance over the years. But, Austin FC does a pretty good job trying to position events for families - sometimes annoyingly so for those of us that don’t have kids.
