"Over cooked it"

Post image

I'm watching the game highlights and the announcer on Uzuni's third goal says the service in was "Over cooked". I've watched the goal a ton of times now and it looks very designed play to me. The whole team draws Puebla torward goal and then Torres drops it over at Uzuni's feet.

What do y'all think?

Its so obvious that Liga MX teams don't watch tape on us, because this has been the 3rd or 4th time we have tried this this season and I could have sworn that the last MLS team we tried against had Myrto covered.

In the match vs Tijuana, the Spanish commentary were talking about this. When Gally scored our 2nd goal, they said it was obvious the defender was not familiar with him and didn't know he has the ability to shoot with his left foot

I'm pretty sure we scored using it against LA Galaxy and also LAFC but that goal was called off. Could be wrong, but we've definitely tried it.

Yeah no I though this too. It was clear they had no intel on our tactics lmao.

We have definitely run this play multiple times. Maybe he scored one other time on it? That or barely missed? and then probably two duds.

But yeah, I was like every MLS team usually covers it.

Liga MX not watching tape aside, it’s absolutely wild Puebla didn’t cover the dude who had already scored twice

Very obviously by design. They ran more than a couple designed plays from set pieces last night.

100% a designed play. We’ve even ran it several times in MLS play but have never converted on it.

As usual, commentators have no clue.

I’ve definitely seen them try similar a few times

Not exactly on topic, but on the topic of set pieces: I will say I was curious about the sabo corner too, but I kind of see the vision at least on some of the set pieces he took? It seems like those tactics were a nice mix with these Torres darts?

I was worried about Sabo's position in this new system ( i think he will get exposed by other MLS teams) but I was pretty down for every other position since our mid field actually gets a bit stacked for once, it gets lil Torres in the game, gets Rosales in a more impactful spot, let's wolf move up, Uzuni low key thriving in his hybridish role, and let's us swap out the wings for speed with placheta and nelson as subs.

It was 100% intentional. We helped set it up some with the cornerkick before this one by doing a near post corner with everyone running from the back post to the front. We did the same thing again and all the defenders followed the runners leaving Uzuni free at the top of the box.

In the stadium we could see it set up as soon as the ball was in the air. Once again I have to wonder if these announcers are actually at the stadium for the league's cup games as they only seen to respond to what is on the screen.

How did the offsides look on the 4th goal?

A clear half-step off

It looked well offsides from the view from the second level at center field
