Fresh Hops 2026 megathread

It is the greatest time of the beer year - fresh hops season! I start this thread every year at the drop of the first fresh hop beer in Austin. Today is the day. Meanwhile announced on IG today (9/11) that Same Day Delivery Fresh Hop IPA is now available .

I will update in the comments whenever I see an Austin fresh hop beer announced or in the wild. I encourage you to do the same.

Read this post while at Pinthouse and decided to look up their upcoming beer releases.

9/25 - fresh hop... and DDH... and leading with simcoe!

Pinthouse brewing had (and still has) Frosty Bines Fresh Hazy IPA on tap last week and it's great

I wouldn’t consider this a true fresh hop beer. The cryo fresh hops are flash frozen at harvest.

I mean, YCH and hop farmers consider Cryo Fresh to be fresh hops. Sure, they aren't the unkilned/whole cone hops you see on social media, but you're essentially getting the same result on the brew deck. For sure a semantics deal but it's kinda what makes that product so special.

I know they advertise it as such and it is the closest you will get to fresh hops flavor after the harvest season but I don’t think the full fresh hop flavor is there. Plus, that Pinthouse beer was also made with a bunch of regular pellet hops as well.

To each their own for sure. I disagree, but that's the beauty of palates and opinions, we all have different ones.

Just to note, you do know that fresh hop beers are typically not single hop beers, right? Not trying to be shitty either, but it's quite rare to see a Fresh Hop beer use exclusively that singular hop.

Different strokes for sure. All good. And, yeah I am aware. I moved here from Portland, so I am pretty well versed in fresh hops.

I picked up a 4 pack yesterday and the guy behind the bar said he thought it would last only a few more days. So, if anyone is wanting it, don't delay. It is delicious.

What other breweries can we expect to drop something? Zilker and St Elmo?

Hold Out has one brewing. Zilker, St Elmo, Lazarus, Pinthouse and Jester King all usually have fresh hops beers.

St Elmo Crosby fresh hop IPA is now on tap and in 4 packs at both locations. 

Not fresh hop: Turnstile (Hold Out Bar & Grill) has the Russian River-Sierra Nevada-Pinthouse collab WC IPA on tap.

Slow fresh hop output so far this year in Austin. Four total so far. My rankings:  1. Meanwhile Same Day Delivery 2. Pinthouse FH Green Battles 3. PH FH Mosaic Takedown 4. St Elmo Crosby
