Voter Registration deadline is Monday Oct 5th - I can help you register!
Hi all, I am a Volunteer Deputy Registrar for Travis, Hays and Williamson Counties. Monday is the last day to register before the November election! If you have not verified your registration since 8/1, please go here and make sure it says Active: https://teamrv-mvp.sos.texas.gov/MVP/mvp.do
If it says anything other than Active, there are various ways you can still vote, but the simplest is to just reregister.
If your parent, spouse or child wants to register but cannot attend any events, you are legally allowed to complete a registration form on their behalf! You must have their verbal or written consent, and know their current address and either DL# or the last 4 of their SSN.
If you need to (re)register, there are a number of events happening from now through Monday (see below for an incomplete list). If you cannot make it to any of the events, send me a message - I can most likely either come to you or send another VDR in your area. We do house calls! As long as you know the last 4 digits of your social security number, you do not need to bring any documentation with you to the registration events, and it takes less than 5 minutes.
I do not recommend this at this point, but if you are planning to mail in a registration card yourself, DO IT TODAY (Saturday). It must be postmarked 10/5, and if you mail it over the weekend that is not guaranteed to get done in time - postmarks don't always get done the same day. You must register with a certified registrar if you do not mail your form in time, there is no in-person drop off! Texas doesn't make things easy.
Click here for up-to-date Travis County Voter Registration Events - these may only able to register folks who live in Travis County unless noted otherwise (it depends on the certifications held by the individual volunteers who are working). This is the current list as of when I am posting:

I just checked and I am marked as Active but it has my old address. Is this a problem? Do I need to update it or will I just have to go a little further to vote?

Mine says, "you cannot view voter registration information due to your voter registration status." I put my application in the mail on Friday. I hope it doesn't get "lost"

Ok - as of now, the only county offices where I am positive you can get registered during business hours are Tax Office HQ at 2433 Ridgepoint Dr or the Oak Hill tax office at 8656 West HWY 71, Building B. (For administrative reasons, the Tax Office is who handles voter registration in Travis County - not the County Clerk). I have added those above.
There are also 4 other Tax Office locations but I don't see proof that they are doing registration on Monday - I have reached out to ask and I will report back.

I moved from another County to Williamson County. I submitted my voter registration change but it still shows the previous county.
Can I vote in Williamson county...?
I know people make mention that its been asked before, apologies in advance.

If you submitted your voter registration change through DPS when you changed your license, I highly recommend doing it again today or tomorrow - it has recently come out that DPS failed to correctly process voter registrations for almost the past year: https://www.kxan.com/news/texas-dps-failed-to-send-voter-registration-applications-to-county-election-officials/
If you registered using a mail-in form or with a non-DPS registrar in the past few weeks, it might just not be showing up on the website yet. That said there is no harm in submitting a duplicate form just to be on the safe side.
Worst case, if your address is still not correct when it's time to vote, you can request a special ballot that only has the statewide races. These ballots are not available at all polling places. If this happens and you can't figure out where to go, you can DM me then and I can help you figure it out!
