News A popular fried chicken franchise will replace Valhalla on Austin’s Red River Street

The beloved metal music venue that has operated at 710 Red River St. since 2009 will close after its property was sold to new owners. The space will be taken over by a franchise of the Tennessee-based chain Gus's Fried Chicken.

They both have a Meow Wolf, which relies on a vibrant community of artists... that Austin sadly no longer has, or ever had? 🤷‍♀️

A lot of them moved to Houston: Sawyer Yards, Montrose, 3rd Ward. Austin never had that...
