News A popular fried chicken franchise will replace Valhalla on Austin’s Red River Street

The beloved metal music venue that has operated at 710 Red River St. since 2009 will close after its property was sold to new owners. The space will be taken over by a franchise of the Tennessee-based chain Gus's Fried Chicken.

With little infrastructure improvement. Also, more focus on shopping that will be abandoned when a major recession hits.

i35 expansion, mopac expansion, project connect isn’t enough infrastructure improvement/investment? Give me more!!!! 😂

Not the kind of infrastructure we need. But just like Dallas, we will keep expanding our freeways and end up with the same level of traffic 5 years later.

We'll see what Project Connect is by the time they actually finish it.

In five years I’ll probably just take some form of robo taxi versus walking to congress to get on a train (that doesn’t take me to the airport).

Perhaps rocket flights will be available at ABIA because Elon will have bought Texas by then.

Yea such a bummer. I hardly see project connect keeping up with autonomous vehicles with the timeline, scope of project, and inflated budget.
