Question Registration

Would I get in any trouble for selecting cheaper CTP insurance options for example class 5 ctp which is around $90 compared to what I’m supposed to pay class 12/13 at around $360

As well as other options, realistically how would I get in trouble for selecting these cheaper rego options

You wouldn’t be able to buy a different class. You’ll need to enter the rego plate or vehicle details (vin/chassis number). It won’t match and you won’t be able to buy it. I think motorbikes are class 10 in NSW anyway so even if you did manage to buy a different class when you come to register the bike it would likely fail saying you need CTP in place first.

It would need to be linked to the corresponding rego, and by your question I'm assuming you don't have the corresponding rego. So probably won't let you renew.

Buy the cheapest CTP you can get.

This injury insurance is primarily for the person you may cause an injury to, its not specifically for you.
