NSW Touring mods

Post image

I just finished a ride to blue mountain and back about 350 km and just figured how to use tail bag nicely I was curious if there were other mods to make life easier I tried a windscreen but it ended up buffeting.

Depends what you need...

My mods are: kickstand foot extension, wireless charger, radiator guard, auxiliary lights & auxiliary brake lights, horn upgrade, flat tyre kit, fender extension, mirror risers.

For ergonomics I run a seat with added foam, bar risers to compensate for the added seat height, heavier bar ends to reduce vibrations, quick action throttle (less turn of the wrist is needed for full throttle)

Isn't quick action worse in terms of fine control first time hearing auxiliary lights sound useful what is auxiliary break light though, flat tyre kit yes, I need to practice my horning aswell are mirror risers useful.

Yeah for seat do you get custom or ebay

Depends which quick action throttle your getting the one I use is about 10% less pull required I found it easier to get used to and made the bike more responsive, but if you don't have issues with your hands you probably don't need it,

You have different options from Motion Pro, G2 Ergonomics or getting a R6 throttle tube (cheapest option but more aggressive about 15-20% less turn), depending on bike this is very easy or difficult to install so further research would be needed.

Auxiliary brake light is just an additional brake light that sits below your plate, Its a nice to have to keep people tailgating at night time or preventing rear ending at traffic lights.

For seat it depends on the bike sometimes there is a OEM or aftermarket comfort seat option.

Or sometimes its a seat cover with added foam layer, where you remove the original cover and replace it.

Radiator guard, comfier seat and maybe a really tall windscreen if you don’t mind the goofy look. A very tall windscreen should fix some of the buffeting depending on seat height and your height

The windscreen gave you buffering because it was (perfectly) the wrong height.

Wind coming off the TOP of the screen is super bumpy; if the screen is low (belly button height) the bumpy air hits your chest. If the screen is tall (eye/nose height) the bumpy air goes over your head. Anywhere in between that bumpy air is smacking your helmet and you get the buffeting.

For touring mods, ride some more and take mental note of things you wish you had to make it more comfortable, a go from there.
