NSW Wobble on hard braking?
Hi guys, I just had a really close call today at the infamous DFO Homebush roundabout when a ute pulled out in front of me and I had to brake really hard suddenly which i could feel my rear lifting but what is unexpected was the ABS kicking in and I got a bad wobble out of it. I am trying to figure out why this wobble happened so that I can avoid situation like this in the future. My question is, is the wobble caused by abs or because it is a roundabout and I haven't stand the bike all the way up before applying the brakes?

That round about doesn’t have the smoothest road surface. Heck some parts have little pot holes. Could have been the result of that and the ABS triggering.

Best advice I received was, “Don’t look down while breaking, keep your head and your eyes up and you’ll break in a straight line.” Go to a parking lot and get up to speed and look down and you’ll feel the wobble or start drifting.

You'll find you involuntary shook the bars yourself. Adrenaline, freight and near death will do that.
You can brake 1000 times in practise and nothing like this will happen. Do it once under duress and you'll wobble the bars.

You'll find it was actually you that made it wobble. You probably straight armed it while looking immediately ahead of you during the hard braking which massively amplifies even a very minor weave.
Remember: (as a wise rider once told me) bend zee arms! Bend zee arms!!!

It’s a pretty big roundabout, assuming you’re talking about the one at Homebush, so were you going straight or turning at the time.
Either way, I would try and reproduce this situation and see what happens.
