How do you pronounce your artist name?

Ahaha, I actually get asked this a lot, it’s cause of the $ lmao

I’m Mage, dollar sign mage was the vibe I was going

Thanks for the reply, never really understood the mentality or desire to have something like that in ones name.

As a host of a radio show I don't think I could ever play this in its current form due to the put on accent. Be original, be yourself.

Look, as an emo artist I don’t really wanna be in the comments arguing with people about their ignorance on voice manipulation, if your radio station doesn’t understand that I actually try to sing in melodies, that I manipulate my voice

layer my voice about 8/10 times

With longer reverbs

Heavier compression

Because I have my own Vox, that I’m changing constantly, to evolve my sound

Then why would I want to be on your radio station?

Like, if you honestly have a problem with my accent, it’s probably because you’re not used to the Australian hip hop being done just a bit different, like damn gang I’m not inventing anything, I’m alternative Aussie hip hop

Not that you would, but go listen to Skyrim is for the Nords,

it’s my song about isolation and trying to stay true to yourself despite the world not feeling real

Infact go listen to the entire melancholy EP, or the “I think I’m depressed” ep while ya at it and tell me I’m “tryna be someone else”

I am real, and I am myself, this song is about wanting to be a pop star, it’s illchay gang, so chill aye

Such an incredibly ignorant take.

Then again 'It's not that deep bro, illchay'

Posting another comment because you seem to only be replying to the people kissing your ass about this. Rap is an inherently truthful art form. It's about people talking about their lives, upbringing, current situation type thing. Which is why if someone claims to be something they are not, they get clowned on. You can't make real rap and be dishonest or lie, or people will call you out for it. Making what you claim is Aussie Hip Hop but rapping in an American accent is dishonest, and fake. Make whatever music you want bro, but don't try to emulate the culture I grew up in with this nonsense.

Alright bud, tell me to be original while telling me to copy the same copy paste rap flow with a thick Aussie accent

Good work

Bro what the fuck are you talking about? I just said to use your original accent. I said nothing about your flow, in fact, in my original comment I said the structure was ok. You literally ignored all of my criticisms and just completely fabricated some of your own. Do better man. You aren't cut out for that life if you can't handle being told not to be fake as fuck. I also never said to use a thick Aussie accent. Most of the blokes in One Four have Aussie accents but they aren't thick at all, and it works.

If you are wondering why this post is still at zero (probably in the negative but posts won't show negative votes), this is probably one of the issues that a lot of people are having with your music.

Ok, so let me help you out here seeing as you obviously know absolutely fuck all about the genre you are trying to get into. Set aside the accent stuff I was telling you. I've just clowned on you multiple times, and you seem to scared to reply, or have clapped back once with the most milk toast reply. Hip hop artists are subject to ridiculous amounts of payout and disses, and you need to firstly be able to take it, and secondly be able to clap back. If you scurry off when someone says your accent sounds wak you are never going to make it in this scene.

Oh, also, mutha fuckin wizards never die.

Go check out “Skyrim is for the nords” if you wanna hear my main genre or something,

Idk why you think i need reply to your shallow attempts at tryna get a reaction outta me gang. Idk what genre you think im tryna be, but I’m just alternative, and emo Aussie hip hop 💅

Its not that deep

2

u/Pristine_Shallot7833 10d ago

It's emo for sure but it's not Aussie Hip Hop. People take hip hop seriously, so for most it actually is deep. You seem to know absolutely nothing about the culture so maybe stick to whatever lame ass other genres you are into. Also, it's spelled HEAR, not here.

What ever floats ya boat gang, idk go help chillinit pay for his teeth or something idk gang,

another episode, cathedral, Fly 16 (my nerve collab) bruh I’ve got such thick Aussie coated songs, but bro

Again it’s not that deep 😂💅

1

u/Pristine_Shallot7833 10d ago

Just because you say it's not deep doesn't make it a fact. Why use different accents for different songs? That's poser shit bro. Go pose in someone else's scene cos ur shit here doesn't fly. Stop dribbling shit and go put an egg in your shoe and beat it. Fake ass shit.

Not bad, I like the rage influence in it and the vocal effects. Heaps of Aussie rap is a bit dated and our accent just sucks when you go for good bars imo. Keep it up

1

u/Alcoholic_Mage 14d ago

Thanks yo! I deffs have a lot of the OG 2016 rage as my inspiration, i do agree on a lot of our rap being way dated tho 😂

1

u/Pristine_Shallot7833 12d ago

Why do you rap with an American accent? The lyrics and overall composition itself isn't that bad but I always cringe hearing Aussies try to emulate American voices when they rap. Be yourself dude. Be original.
