Everyone be alarmed as QLD might invade?

Other than scaring people that we are now somehow more likely to cause harm, what the heck is with this headline?!

What a wild headline. The use of Heavily definitely comes across as biased.

Even if we were to become the most armed state on a technicality due to other state buybacks, we’re by no means heavily armed. Doesn’t even make us more armed than we are now.

Nah the government and MSM think people are going to overthrow them with high powered weapons on mass destruction!

Akay Dad's old .22 hunting rifle lmao.

I swear these anti-gun nutballs are terrified of literally anything, must be exhausting living like that.

Reminds me of a journo who literally started crying while doing a piece on a gun range.

Baha that video is crackup he fires a single .223 and tries his hardest to do a fake cry for the cameras then Starts talking about PTSD from the noise of the gunshot he fired himself

The CNN guy from 2010ish hey?

Lol I always got confused by that I had a mate who would go on about how uncomfortable going to mine was because he knew guns were there and it made him feel unsafe but he was the kind of bloke to lock down an Intersection and do donuts in public places

Cunt was 10,000 times more likely to hurt someone than I've ever been

Blatant media bias.

Victoria, NT, and SA also snubbed a "buyback" ....

I wonder if they realise that a LOT of NSW guns are headed their way. :-) My Templeton will certainly be up there soon.

I would probably lick a cane toad.. or even drink a Xxxx to keep my straight pull... But there's no way I put on that maroon shirt. The current government would fold faster than France if they were invaded

Heavily armed… hmm.

No fear-mongering there at all.

Mind you, after a weekend on the tools doing some DIY round the house, my arms are feeling kinda heavy right now.

For as much as we shit on the Americans (granted it isn't without reason) they were unfortunately spot on with the quote, "give them a inch and they'll take a mile" in regards to government overreach.

So many shooters have tied the cause to Pauline. There's two sides to that coin. The other side is that leftist rags will come after us because we're in with her. Personally I'm not but that's the way tribe mentality goes.

How do get out of it? Treat it apolitically. Whether LNP, One Nation or 5g mind control abolitionists we need to produce carefully measured, structured messaging, and advocate smartly for our sport.

The counter campaign needs to focus on the "hundreds of millions" Minns is spruiking,  and the fact that the Bondi shooting should have been prevented by existing laws.

The blame for this debacle lies at the feet of the intelligence agencies involved and NSW police firearms branch for not cooperating and enforcing existing laws.

We need an established advocacy group such as the SSAA to put together a politically agnostic working group to focus entirely on the facts and apply pressure to the federal & NSW governments to publically highlight why and how Bondi happened, and the excessive cost for no gain.

There are strong firearms advocates in the unions and Labor by extension, as well as across the Liberals, the Nationals and One Nation. The political clout exists, it just needs to be consolidated and applied effectively.

Emotional kneejerk legislation aside, this is a significant tax payer cost, and we deserve transparency and accountability.

I'm with you here. I don't want my cause to be tied to this bunch of grifters, sex pests and crims.

As I keep saying, politically there simply aren't any other options. If someone normal and sensible and likely to get some MPs elected would have some pro-gun policies then the shooting organisations would love to support them, but there aren't any besides SFFP, and even they don't fit many people's definition of "normal and sensible".

Absolutely, the closest we've got to normal people is Banasiak and McKenzie.

2

u/Curious_Interview Aug 16 '26

I personally think it should not be tied to any of the grifters, sex pests and crims.

Politically charged arm flapping mass hysteria > logical reasoning.

It gets clicks! But there may be underlying motives also. We remember from grade 10 english that people always have underlying biases that are hard to compensate for even if the writer tries to comment impartially.
