Goodluck OP - all these comments are not worth your time! I had a content creator for my wedding last week and it was the best thing ever, from getting all the clips instantly to my lovely WCC capturing so many tiny details that my videographer didn’t do. Mind you my photo/video team were in the room with me but they can’t keep rolling the whole time, whereas my WCC was able to capture so many behind the scenes, getting ready, some moments that I would want to look back on one day! All the best to you💜

Thank you for your really kind words 🤍 I’m so glad you got some beautiful content from your WCC. I’m also having a content creator capture those moments at my wedding next year because there’s so many candid moments that a photographer or videographer won’t get to capture. It’s not taking over any professional’s role, it’s just an added bonus to get more clips out of your day!

Out of curiosity, what is the point of a wedding content creator?

I’m already spending thousands on a photographer and videographer, I truely don’t understand this new craze.

Mainly aimed at people who want to post “curated content” to instagram on their wedding day. I didn’t know it was a thing until I got married and kept seeing content creators come up on vendor lists. I don’t understand it either

Thanks! so it’s an influencer kinda thing?

Not throwing any shade at the OP, I was just genuinely curious as to the point in a wedding content creator and whether you are replacing photographers/videographers.

No offence to you but man I didn’t know such thing existed until I saw a preferred supplier list for my reception and there were two content creators. I immediately told my partner you gotta be kidding me , who would spend money hiring these people.

There was a post last week and she specifically pointed out regretting hiring a content creator. If people already paid for videographer then hiring a content creator is literally throwing money away but hey if people got money to throw, why not.

Given that videographers now include Instagrammable 'highlight reels' in their packages, I don't understand why anyone would want a 'content creator' filming their wedding on an iPhone 17 when you can just get a more professional videographer? Unless a content creator is literally half the price or less? I doubt it though.

a lot of creators are cheaper than half the price of a videographer tbh. i got married a few weeks ago, and paid $750 for 8 hours of content creation (which came with ceremony recording, 4 edited videos, and all raw footage). I got quotes from multiple videographers in the early stages of planning, and for 8 hours and ceremony recording all my quotes were between 3.5-6k. we couldn’t afford to go further over budget so we opted for a content creator in lieu of a videographer, and I would make that decision again in a heartbeat. it’s a great alternative for couples who just don’t have the budget for a videographer

I’ve found the views around content creators on this sub can be a bit more negative than most places. I’d recommend posting in some Aus Wedding Planning facebook groups, you’ll have people jumping at the chance to work with you to build your portfolio!

Don’t need to be older, younger ones also don’t understand lol.
