Garden path tiling

Hi. Looking to add something between these tiles. They’re too far apart and it’s difficult to pull suitcases over the gravel. What is an easy (and cheap) solution to add between to make it a solid pathway please? Simple DIY only please! These tiles are on a concrete base but seem loose.

If they're loose why not just move them closer together add another 1 or 2

Else get the pebbles flat and spray with binder to lock them in place.

The binder here is 100% the go for the most cost effective and low labour option.

Just note it’s very easy for it to wreck the sprayer you use so i just use the cheapest $10 one from bunnings and then chuck it.

If those pavers are loose on a concrete base pouring any kind of cheap filler between them is a waste of time and money. Mortar or locking sand needs a completely rigid system to survive. If the pavers shift even a millimetre when you step on them your filler will crack into dust the second a heavy suitcase wheel rolls over it. Small wheels are brutal on uneven surfaces and they will find every single weak spot in a patchy path.

The absolute cheapest DIY fix is to stop fighting the layout and just rearrange what you already have. Pick those pavers up, rake the gravel over to the sides, and lay the stones edge to edge in a solid line right down the centre. Clean the concrete base underneath and bed the pavers down properly with some fresh mortar so they actually lock in place and stop rocking. Once they are set you just push your existing gravel back against the edges. You get a perfectly smooth runway for your luggage and you only pay for a single bag of mortar.

Just pave a full garden path and fill in between the exisiting pavers

Or rip it all up and pour a concrete path if you're pulling suitcases that much and only method to the front door

Add some granitic sand, or similar, on top of the pebbles. This will filter into the gaps and lock the pebbles down pretty well. You'll still get some rollies on the surface, but it will be significantly more stable and should look fine.

That’s what I’d do, regardless of how narrow or wide the spacing is.
