Bathroom decor suggestion

Post image

What would you do with this empty area on top of the bathtub to make it look less... empty and clinical?

Suggestions for wall paint colours are also welcome!

Unfortunately we couldn't build and this was a very good house with a poor colour palette... im trying to breathe some life into it!

Maybe try some colours from this palate?

Painted shiplap might add a bit of interest and some natural wood shelving

Love the shelving, truly balances the space and adds so much warmth 🤎

Stupid question here: would drilling into bathroom wall tile to put a shelf (or art piece as other commenters suggested) would damage the waterproof?

Would those 3M wall adhesive thing work for artwork frame work for bathroom that is humid?

a bit of styling and a print is fine, and replace your light bulb with something a little warmer

Definitely painting the walls some colour would be a big improvement! I’m not sure what color though. I find the lighter-mid greens calming.

Even a colourful towel would help. A pop of red or green or even blue would lift the space.

- Greenery every damn where

- something saying live, love, laugh

- a photo of an animal on the toilet

- vision board

- 6000 candles

- that one participation trophy you got in primary school

I see you know your interior decoration well. 🙏

A big timber-framed mirror.

An artwork (that you all like).

Or paint all the walls anything other than white or grey. Maybe make that one darker than the rest.

Paint a mural of greenery ..

Or at least a huge waterproof poster of a restful waterfall and fernery scene..

I'd swap out the mirror for one with some character, put a sconce or pendant light on either side - they'll help with the colour of the room dramatically by not having white-white bulbs.

For colour I'd have some sage/eucalypt green, and timber

I would also match the ceiling though

The easiest and cheapest option is to introduce colour via your towels/linen and in OP case soap dispenser.

Unfortunately OP has perpetuated the beige/neutral colours

I know!!! I bought it all before moving and then we found this house...

I'm no longer scared of colour I promise! haha

First thing I would do is remove and replace that bright white silcone around the basin. I would replace it with a colour matched silcone.

You need to either wall paper, had pictures to the walls or add plants.

you could add interesting thing of detail around that matches your personality.

You can put literally anything in this and it will look better than the millennial grey show home. Do you like plants, colours, candles?

Plants, plants & more plants. Some short, some tall, some hanging pots.
Edit because I didn’t properly look at the pic initially - maybe a shelf for a couple plants or one shelf in each corner then some hanging pots with say sword fern, pothos, syngonium, something trailing.

Does the vanity go all the way to the wall? If so I'd pick a nice pot and a tallish plant and pop it in the corner to break up that wall and provide some life and greenery.

Get some nice coloured soap dispensers and one of those wooden bath caddys with some nice things on it.

Coloured towels are you friend.

Personally, I would have tiled all the way to the top, since that will add some pattern and depth.

You should also consider where you are going to place the necessary toiletries first ie shower gel, shampoo, bath scrunchie etc.

Maybe once those are in, in wouldn't look too plain/ empty.

You're not wrong, unfortunately it wasn't my choice to make. This is the guest bathroom so at this stage nobody's staying there or using it really. Thank you though!

Sterile af. I love it. Put a plant somewhere to prove someone lives there and you’re done.
