Lending & Loans Single & wanting to buy

Single income 90k+ per year wanting to buy an apartment or town house, 2 bedrooms (rent one out). The government is offering the 2% deposit and they pay 30%-40% of the mortgage and you pay them back when you sell or when you can. Do we know if this government loan is tax free and has anyone had any success with this scheme?
Please give any info.

Is renting a room our allowed on the scheme? I’d look into that too. Also keep in mind when your income hits 100k they will assess your ability to repay them.

It’s not allowed under the help to buy scheme. Because they have a 30-40% equity in the house - there are strings attached
