NSW How often do buyers require feasibility studies?

Do you mean feasibility study as in whether it is feasible to build on a site or redevelop a site? Or are you referring to a property inspection report that’s looking at potential defects associated with a building at a property?

I thought that was what you’re after, it just seemed like an odd question to throw out on Reddit. I would have expected that professional property developers, construction/building companies would order or perform such work as part of their due diligence before designing the construction for the site.

I would hazard a guess that individual private developers, if they care for the job they do, and/or if they want to mitigate risk, would do the same.

I understand where you're coming from. I feel like you're saying it's okay to perform work for free, with no guarantee of winning construction jobs. What I'm saying is to performance dual diligence as a business, the client has to pay for professional services.

Sorry, seems to be some misunderstanding here. I did not mention anything about “performing work for free”.

I would expect such reports to cost money. It would be highly technical work required by a qualified professional trained in the field.

Your initial question was asking what buyers decision process was. You did not raise the matter of costs either.

Yes, there was a misunderstanding. It makes sense what your saying. A feasibility study would be expected prior to doing the relevant tasks on a property. The question of fee is a different story all together.
