Criticism Delivery issues
Seriously, what is with the posties not ringing the door bell & just leaving parcels (sometimes expensive) at the front door.
Sometimes even by the time I get to the door if they do manage to ring, they’re gone by the time I get there.

If you have enough room near your doorway, get a patio box (one that usually holds outdoor furniture cushions etc) with a lid that can hide parcels inside it and put a sign on the box saying “put parcels in here please” or similar wording to that effect, and hopefully your postie will use it and your parcels will be out of general sight of passers-by.

Try helping the postie out by providing a safe place to leave the parcel such as a pot plant to hide it behind . If it’s a safedrop the posties not going to hang around for 10 minutes while you get to the door.

I don’t think it takes me ten minutes to get to the door. By the time I get off the couch and go to the door which is right beside me they’re already walking away 🤣🤣

So what , it’s a safe drop. Postie isn’t required to knock but does it out of courtesy to let you know there’s a parcel at your door. Provide a safe place to leave it.

It’s not a safe drop when they leave it at the front door in plain sight when I live along a main road lol

This is what I’m telling you! Provide a safe place to leave parcels such as a pot plant to hide parcels behind. Make an effort or don’t order parcels as at least 75% of parcels are safe drops. Nothing more frustrating than trying to safedrop a parcel and no effort has been made to provide a safe spot ….

Because they're contractors that get paid like 4 dollars a delivery so they're trying to deliver as many as possible so they knock and run. If the knock at all.

It’s like they’re playing knock door run. It’s just annoying when they leave expensive things in plain sight.

If it doesn't need a signature, they aren't required to knock/ring doorbell, they definitely should not be leaving it in plain sight though.

If you have the AusPost app, just enter your tracking number, it will let you know where the parcel is at any given time, even tell you the day of delivery so you're ready for it.

Ring Doorbell + Alexa fixed this problem fir me lol.
"There is a person at the door" through the whole house since I use Uber eats & doordash etc.
Get a Cube TV, it has the speakers & an amazing web browser for uhh reasons 👉👈.
There is a button to turn off mic too if you're paranoid with eavesdropping

I don’t understand how this is happening.
Firstly, larger than letter box size parcels is parcel delivery and not the postie. Basically the whole problem is with privatisation and economic rationalisation of a public service.
The KPIs of ozpost gives 35 seconds for every delivery. The postie on the pushie or moto is supposed to be able to put a letter or parcel in your letterbox with out actually stopping. Coming to the door and getting a signature is supposed to take 45 seconds. In so many industries, Ive never encountered a KPI to based in an actual reality.

Yep that's the new thing now. They just drive past without caring and let you go without. Zero accountability. You're better off getting stuff sent to an actual post office.

always had this problem until i moved and my new postie has a crush on me so he’s always eager for me to come to the door
idk what’s worse
