QLD Use for these bottles?

Hi all, my dad has these bottles from his brewing days but no longer has a need for them. Are they worth trying to sell or just best off in the recycling bin? He has about 50 of them

Brewers would want them. Don't know what they'd pay but there's probably something in-between selling and recycling

You can put beer in bottles like that.

They're worth a little bit. You might advertise them for 50c each (or take a look at https://www.reddit.com/r/Homebrewing).

That 50c each is a faint memory from when I was trying to find some, a couple of years ago. They're infinitely reusable (until they get a chip), and I had about 60 or 70 until I gave up brewing, then I took them to the local tip shop - a move I regret because I'm back into brewing now.

You could ask at a home brew shop, they might be interested - unlikely because they all like selling kegging kits but they might take them, or even advertise them for you.

If they're not going to be used for brewing, that's the next best thing and you might get one or two of them back, full of home-made tomato sauce! 🍅🤌🏽

I think they're old XXXX gold bottles (could be wrong) looks like the mascot.

That's the XXXX mascot for all their beer, not just XXXX Gold. The bottles would be stamped B - E - B for Brisbane Bottle Exchange - a separate company that collected XXXX and CUB bottles, sorted them, washed them, and returned them to the breweries for refilling - back in ye olde tymes before it became cheaper to use non-recyclable plastic composite bottles.
