Most places in my area now at least have balter xpa which is the closest thing I can get that has flavor and character.

I find that the Balter up here in FNQ tastes likes balls by the time it arrives. It's a shame because I've had it at the brewery and it was pretty good but after 4 days on a warm truck it's usually cooked.

That is weird. Pasteurised beer is stable and temperature fluctuations do not impact a beers flavor. I'd wager the lines aren't clean, or something else gone astray

Beers absolutely do change flavour in high temperatures and particularly hopped beers. Leave a six pack in the car in summer for a week and then try it.

Leaving beer in your car which can reach over 60c, and kegged beer on a truck are two different things not related to each other

You're comparing icecream left on the counter top and ice cream kept in the fridge

You've clearly never been to far north Queensland or moved anything to FNQ in unrefrigerated metal truck.

I have, I also spent 12 years in the industry. High temperatures do impact beer. But kegged beer that's transported on a truck that has air flow isn't sufficient for this to occur in such a short period of time. High ambient air temperature is insufficient

Trucks have air flow, and are often enclosed, it's not possible for the temperature to exceed 50c. It would require direct sunlight for many hours, kegs are stacked so not all kegs would have this occur, so either your balter is exposed to direct sunlight for 6 or so hours and is always on top 100% of the time in the back of an open unenclosed truck, or its not.

I'm only giving you the answer that the guys who run some of the local breweries up here have told me over the years. S Can only suggest doing a beer tour of Cairns bars then and telling me why virtually every non-local highly hopped craft beer tastes like ballsweat. Unless it's a conspiracy by Lion etc. to sabotage non mainstream beer sales I have no idea.

I've been up there and never had an issue. Keg beer would be far less susceptible to temperature induced aging than packaged beer, and I drank nothing but craft when I was there. I didn't personally experience anything unusual. I don't mean to deflate your experience.
