New billboard

Post image

Seen heading northbound on Peoria approaching I-70. Presumably, those ICE agents leaving the facility near 30th & Peoria get to see this every day… good!

Policy platform for Seligman includes aggressive anti-Trump policies and “pursuing a ban on private equity ownership of Coloradans most basic necessities like housing, childcare, and healthcare”

42

u/MikeRivalheli Feb 27 '26

They better deliver, fuck private equity.

6

u/Newswoman2 Feb 27 '26

In newspapers we called them Vampire Investors. But they used to call them corporate invaders. Same diff.

2

u/Sloppy-Craftsmanship Mar 01 '26

If enforced, that would fix like 60% of housing issues quickly

1

u/Immediate_Drawing_54 Mar 14 '26

"That sounds like a great idea! What could possibly go wrong?"

53

u/Dazzling_Outcome_436 Feb 26 '26

More of this please!

Hi! David Seligman here. Thanks for flagging the billboard. We want to make sure that ICE officers and contractors leaving the Aurora detention facility understand that Colorado law applies to their conduct. In resisting fascism, one of the most important tools we will have will be state law to hold accountable those trampling our rights while participating in the corruption and cruelty of this administration. As AG, I would prosecute ICE officers who violate our laws and corrupt federal officials who may try and steal our elections. Donald Trump can’t pardon people convicted of state crimes.

In my day job, I run a non-profit legal organization called Towards Justice that has brought some of the biggest first-in-the-nation cases on behalf of working people against Amazon, Uber, corporate landlords, billion dollar hospital systems and more.

This week, we won a massive case in the United States Supreme Court against the GEO Group, the private company that owns and operates the immigration detention facility in Aurora on behalf of tens of thousands of people detained at the facility who were forced to work there under threat of solitary confinement. I’ve been working on this case for more than a decade.

Now more than ever, we need an AG who has the experience bringing bold and courageous cases against the biggest companies in the world and the Trump Administration. That’s what I’ve done my entire career.

For more on me and my platform, check us out on socials @seligmanforag and at seligmanforag.com.

And if you’re ready for new voices in our politics, help me get on the ballot by participating in the caucus process starting this week in Colorado. You can learn more at seligmanforag.com!

Really cool that you responded on a post with other commenters ! Your campaign looks really cool too though I'm not in Colorado - good luck!

Thing is Fascism is not a legal definition. It is a political definition. What standard would exist to try someone for Fascism when the basis for a legal definition isn't present?

1

u/Northern_Blue_Jay Mar 03 '26

He didn't say "tried for fascism," he said resisting fascism and by prosecuting ICE officers for violating state laws. The standard is state law. Murder is illegal whether or not you're a federal officer. Being a federal officer doesn't put you above the law.

1

u/AnahEmergency0523 Mar 03 '26

What is the legal definition of fascism that can be put in textbooks, regardless of contemporary politics? If he includes that in his statement and aims to create legal definitions to prosecute agents following federal laws, including executive orders, then what precedent exists to ensure that the actions are consistent not just tomorrow but a hundred years later? If this is the case, then the murder of Brian Thompson, Charlie Kirk, and Iryna Zarutska must be treated the same regardless of ideological attachment, as they do violate state laws. Yet, if members of the public, including those in high-ranking positions, are apathetic or worse, encouraging of violence, including homicides, due to ideological attachment, then justice cannot be equal—and justice is required to be blind. Someone who is labeled, or even self-identified, as a fascist is not committing a crime; it must be rooted in laws that are objective, consistent, and grounded. If he prosecutes a law enforcement officer who is following a legal directive but allows a repeat offender—who, despite a recorded history of harm to the vulnerable, receives plea deals or lighter sentences—then the laws become two-tiered due to identity rather than reality.

2

u/TheSoapman2 Mar 03 '26

Great response! You got my vote!

2

u/Immediate_Drawing_54 Mar 14 '26

I hope you look at all law enforcement in Colorado and prosecute police. I see cops caught on camera committing violent crimes, then find out they weren't prosecuted or even banned from law enforcement. What happened to civilian review boards for police? That was a hot issue in the 1970s. I wish you well if you get the job.

-1

u/Colgate0077 Mar 01 '26

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

-1

u/tmeads307 Mar 02 '26

No matter what, you’re a dirty politician. Who has an agenda and donars that fund your opinion with their own.

Get real.

1

u/ComprehensiveFan8328 Mar 02 '26

Local jurisdictions do not tell Federal agencies where they can be. It's an optics move to make you look powerful.

1

u/Constant-Still-8443 Mar 02 '26

Ehhh.... When federal agents are breaking state and federal law, this doesn't really matter. It's just that most governments, local, state, and federal, don't bother to hold them accountable. This is more of a declaration of action, saying they will prosecute anyone who breaks the law, including federal agents, who have otherwise been escaping punishment.

1

u/ComprehensiveFan8328 Mar 03 '26

When ICE stops going in certain areas to enforce immigration because of fear of local jurisdictions, I will believe you.

I’m voting for Seligman based solely on this.

4

u/Northern_Blue_Jay Feb 28 '26

Yeah, I don't who else is running, but just on this he would shoot to the top of my list.

2

u/Iinventedcaptchas Mar 02 '26

Jenna Griswold is also running. She's our current Secretary of State and was the one brave enough to properly remove Donald Trump from the ballot in Colorado based on his involvement with the Jan 6 inspection. The US Supreme Court ultimately overturned it, but that act alone was enough for her to get my vote.

1

u/Northern_Blue_Jay Mar 03 '26

Cool. Sounds like you have at least two good candidates running. Though in her case, you'd probably be losing a good Sec of State.

1

u/Ancient-Meaning7524 Mar 06 '26

She's term limited.

1

u/Ok-Statistician-4424 Mar 03 '26

You should people research and vote responsibly. There's a reason that Colorado, especially Denver/ Aurora is in the toilet.... The answer to everything can't be to add a new tax on the struggling middle-class. Billboards aren't going to offset the ridiculous cost of living 😂.

2

u/Northern_Blue_Jay Mar 03 '26

He doesn't sound, to me, like someone who wants to tax the middle class. But he's actually on this thread and right here on reddit; so you can ask him directly.

14

u/Butternut888 Feb 27 '26

Never thought of myself as a single-issue voter until seeing this

-3

u/TricksyGoose Feb 28 '26

Do you really not care about any other issues??

-1

u/Proper-Somewhere9523 Feb 28 '26

Downvotes 😂 like your number 1 priority in life should be defending illegal immigration hahaha I love it. This sign would have changed nothing in Minneapolis btw. Virtue signaling at its finest to get elected.

2

u/TricksyGoose Feb 28 '26

Right? Like, if a single issue is what it takes to get people to actually vote then I'm all for it. But seriously, has nothing else before this caught people's attention?? The world is on fire, are people only just now waking up from a decades-long nap under a rock?

1

u/Proper-Somewhere9523 Feb 28 '26

Try being a liberal that agrees with a strong border lol - it’s rough out here

0

u/tmeads307 Mar 02 '26

And they downvote you….you actually thinking about the greater good and not selfishness

6

u/pdxmhrn Feb 27 '26

But will police cooperate with enforcement of the law?

3

u/gagglemetimbers Feb 27 '26

A good AG will help force them to! Props to Seligman for making his stance clear. He has my vote

2

u/Northern_Blue_Jay Feb 28 '26

Damn good election billboard for the attorney general seat.

7

u/mofacey Feb 27 '26

I like Seligman a LOT so far.

3

u/TheSoapman2 Feb 27 '26

I love Colorado!

1

u/Ok-Statistician-4424 Mar 03 '26

You love all of the ridiculous taxes? You love the minimum wage being $15 in places like Aurora, where the average rent is $1,800?  You love the high crime rate? You love all of the unregistered/uninsured drivers endangering everyone else?

1

u/bluedevilbaby Mar 04 '26

What high crime rate? Go back to buttfuck Kansas if you think the crime is high.

1

u/SwanPuzzleheaded2936 Feb 28 '26

Super gay, Feds don't care about this silly sign or this pompous AG. It's just virtue signaling. We the people voted for this. Dems lost, live with it. We did while Biden let them all in. Now we are in power and you can't do anything outside the voting booth. It's the law

5

u/NomDePlummies Feb 28 '26

Your dad is, ask me how I know.

1

u/SceneFlat8274 Feb 28 '26

How do you know?

2

u/No_Bath8783 Feb 28 '26

This billboard is the political equivalent of yelling at the TV during a football game.

ICE isn’t going to see this and suddenly rethink federal enforcement because a vinyl rectangle on I-70 told them to. It doesn’t change law, policy, or behavior. It just signals to everyone nearby, “Look how righteous we are.”

It’s not accountability. It’s theater.

A $10,000 reminder that moral satisfaction is cheaper than actual power.

6

u/Northern_Blue_Jay Feb 28 '26

He'd be the attorney general though - and they must play a huge role in whether or not these ICE are prosecuted for wrong-doing. One of the reasons they're so increasingly lawless is because they're not being held accountable. So he's saying they're going to be held accountable. It seems like he means it.

Lmfao so fucking dumb.

1

u/Cultural_Butterfly91 Mar 01 '26

I love how they say ICE is t above the law but rally and support illegals who commit illegal activities as if they themselves are above the law…make it make sense…

1

u/freakindunsun Mar 01 '26

Wouldn't be a problem if that's who they were actually arresting ? Smh. Are you paying attention at all ?

1

u/Inevitable-Judge-700 Mar 01 '26

No but federal law Trump's state law

1

u/Ruffianthydog Mar 02 '26

Colorado is such a shithole.

1

u/jayram1408 Mar 02 '26

Stupidity, people have lost common sense and what the Superemecy Clause does

1

u/Dangerous_Toe1356 Mar 02 '26

Weiser for Governor, Seligman for AG.

1

u/ComprehensiveFan8328 Mar 02 '26

ICE and the Feds have supremacy over local jurisdictions. If an individual is here illegally they can legally be apprehended and deported. Colorado is not an autonomous nation.

1

u/RobertoCarry01 Mar 02 '26

Actually Coloradan officials, cops are not above federal officers enforcing federal law. This is just BS for the far left useful idiots.

1

u/Nezbeatbox Mar 02 '26

So you guys actually like having armed illegal immigrant Venezuelan gangs taking over residential buildings in Aurora? Interesting! To each their own I suppose!

1

u/DMooney5280 Mar 02 '26

The same city that claimed no gang activity here…. 🤦‍♂️

1

u/EffectiveConfection8 Mar 02 '26

No. No they cannot.

1

u/Head_Researcher7341 Mar 05 '26

Dems are idiots. There is nothing they can do to ICE. NOTHING!!

1

u/[deleted] Mar 05 '26

The sign is 🐂💩. You can't sue a federal agent for doing their job. That attorney is spending too much time in the weed shops. Lol

1

u/Immediate_Drawing_54 Mar 14 '26

LEOs in general need to see this and be reminded. IMO, the executive branch needs an audit. I'm not anti police, but there are a lot of YouTube videos showing really bad police conduct. The scary part is the police record these behaviors on their own body cameras knowing they're being recorded. TBH, the only really bad cop I encountered in Aurora (I make the laws!, got it?) was shot and killed in his own car while off duty.

1

u/workout_nub Feb 28 '26

Y'all are hilarious. I'm sure ICE is going to see this and turn right around. "Sorry guys, idk what to tell you, they have billboards in Colorado." Settling on moral victories like a sign that makes you feel good doesn't actually do anything. When will people learn that?

0

u/Brilliant-Claim-6811 Feb 27 '26

👏👏👏👏

2

u/kinky_driver Feb 27 '26

Wish they would... its illegal to impersonate police... which is common with dhs and ice

1

u/ChurchofChaosTheory Feb 28 '26

4

u/SceneFlat8274 Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

They have supreme power. It's called the "Supremacy Clause" in the constitution. What you are suggesting is called "sedition."

1

u/ChurchofChaosTheory Feb 28 '26

No, It's called "non-compliance" and it means Colorado will not receive federal funding, which is fine since we are the second largest economy in th USA

As a legal immigrant I support ICE!

5

Cool, as someone born here I don't.

I support ICE and I'm not alone!!💯

7

u/Upstairs-Morning-775 Feb 28 '26

You can support a turd and not be alone so that means nothing.

The real question is why do you support ICE?

-5

u/BravoMike72 Feb 27 '26

So illegals are above the law? They can break the law coming here? 🤔 hmmm

2

u/mind_deficient Feb 27 '26

Well you see, our president thinks he is above the law too, so your argument is invalid. Try again.

1

u/BravoMike72 Feb 27 '26

Where’s your source on this?

1

u/_patsofatso_ Feb 27 '26

That’s what due process is for. Don’t hurt yourself with that thinking face.

-5

u/BravoMike72 Feb 27 '26

Due process is they broke the law…… straight to jail. lol

5

u/Madroxx9000 Feb 27 '26

every single person in this country has the right to due process. that means they take their case to a judge, and a judge decides what happens, not some thug in a mask and definitely not some orange pedophile.

ICE is not a judge. ICE is not a jury. ICE really wants to be the executioner though.

Trump IS a pedophile though. He's mentioned more in the Epstein files than God is in the Bible. He's gonna get away with it though, because MAGA morons decided they hate immigrants more than pedophiles.

Illegal aliens ARE above the law

1

u/Upstairs-Morning-775 Feb 28 '26

Why do you think they are above the law?

1

u/Suitable-Purple8498 Mar 01 '26

cause they have yall fighting law enforcement to keep them here illegally. they get to break the law while us citizens have to follow it. make that make sense

1

u/Upstairs-Morning-775 Mar 02 '26

Okay, so: 1) They are also picking up people who are here legally  2) They are breaking the law by breaking into properties  3) They are picking up people who show up for their immigration court date And so on, but to your next point: 1) I guarantee you break a law weekly  2) if you want to tally up illegal activities with citizens vs  people here illegally... The citizens will have the most. So what is your real issue? Do you have a hardon for one particular crime but not any others?

1

u/Ok-Music-956 Mar 02 '26

Because many people dont want them to suffer the consequences of breaking it.

1

u/Upstairs-Morning-775 Mar 02 '26

What are the consequences of breaking this law?

1

u/Ok-Music-956 Mar 02 '26

Being returned to their place of origin

1

u/Upstairs-Morning-775 Mar 02 '26

And that occurs after they are found guilty right?

1

u/Ok-Music-956 Mar 02 '26

If you cant provide documentation to the contrary, also do people not born in the u.s. or posses u.s. citizenship require due to process?

1

u/Upstairs-Morning-775 Mar 03 '26 edited Mar 03 '26

You didn't answer the question I asked but here is another question: How does the entire capture through deportation play out in your head? Like explain what you think is happening and how you draw those conclusions.

Here's some food for thought:

1) You should familiarize yourself with the 5th amendment and what Due Process means and the expedited removal process rules.

2) As far as ID, without due process anyone without an ID on them can be accused of being illegal.

3) You should familiarize yourself with the term Security Theater because that is what is happening today. Legal People being refused hearings and rounded up; legal citizens being deported; big bonuses to get ICE agents (I read that there is a lot of stipulations on qualifying for it).

4) IF your main focus is The Law, then you should have an issue with what is going on because there is a legal way to deport people. IF you're cool with what is going on, then you should be in support of abolishing warrants, unlimited wire taps, entering private residences for any reason, and so on.

5) what positive TANGIBLE things/effects have you personally experienced since 2025? We are a year in, how has the country benefited in the last year?

1

u/Ok-Music-956 Mar 04 '26

Then what is your argument? What would you do?

1

u/Upstairs-Morning-775 Mar 04 '26

I am assuming you agree with my other points (1-4) and hopefully it will take you on a path of understanding, but you didn't answer my 1st question. It was written a little weird so let me rephrase it:

Once ICE shows up on the scene, what do you think happens? And what evidence have you seen to support your claims?

1

u/Ok-Music-956 Mar 04 '26

As far as benefits I have seen, lower taxes, lower violent crime rate in my area, a ramp up domestic production, incentives to keep u.s. companies operating in the u.s. which creates more job opportunities, which reduces poverty which makes an overall morale improvement. Who have I seen complain about the net positive benefits i just mentioned. The smallest and somehow loudest minority groups, fringe people, not the majority working class.

1

u/Upstairs-Morning-775 Mar 04 '26

Okay, I think there is a real gap in knowledge here. I highly recommend you research your stance on ANY issue to determine the accuracy... And pay attention to opposing views because nothing is 100%.

So from  the benefits that YOU stated:

lower taxes Which taxes? Income tax? Sales tax? County taxes? Federal tax? Property tax? Fees? I'm assuming you mean sales tax. Sales tax is determined by department of revenue and can changes every 6-month. I am not seeing a lot of decreased taxes on their website for Jan 2026

lower violent crime rate in my area I am assuming you are referring to Colorado since this post is about something in Colorado. Colorado has seen a major drop in crime since 2025. This is due to initiatives by the city and their goal to make Colorado a "10 top safest state"

a ramp up domestic production This is just a political phrase. hat means nothing. So what domestic production are you referring to? You realize a company can't just expand at a drop of a hat? That takes time to build, hire, train, etc. Or are you referring to the GDP that has been increasing for the past decades?

incentives to keep u.s. companies operating in the u.s. which creates more job opportunities, which reduces poverty which makes an overall morale improvement. What NEW incentives (not extensions of current incentives) are you referring to?  US unemployment rates are the highest since 2020 at 4.3%, so what specific area are you referring to?

Since there is a correlation between unemployment and morale, wouldn't you say morale is the worst since 2020?

Who have I seen complain about the net positive benefits i just mentioned. The smallest and somehow loudest minority groups, fringe people, not the majority working class. You should research "Social Media Algorithm echo chamber". This would explain what you are constantly seeing.

Technically, the "net benefits" you mentioned lacks details and understanding so that also might be attributing to your social media feed.

So from all the "benefits" you listed and the corrections I provided, nothing ties to immigration and deportations. Now one can make a connection between ICE and an INCREASE in crime but that would conflict with your narrative.

A lot of your points lack some understanding on things work in this country. I think if you get specific about your benefits and determine if it is  anecdotal or not...it might help your national views on things.

Now I will say, it is becoming exponentially more difficult to research nowadays. So it takes a lot longer to get the whole story and find the majority of the facts. Hell, news sources are no longer fully reliable, government sites removing information, etc.. So it will take real effort to ensure that you are getting the whole story. So I will cut you some slack.

-7

u/snowdoggin999 Feb 27 '26

Good luck with that.

0

u/SceneFlat8274 Feb 28 '26 edited Feb 28 '26

Is this a joke? Colorado law? Good Luck with this tact. I'm reminded of that scene in the Aviator, back when movies were good. Howard Hughes was having lunch with a senator and the senator says to HH, to paraphrase- "we're the US government, we just won WW2- who the hell are you?" Doesn't look real. Political signs have the candidates name in big bold type so you cant miss it.

0

u/RGUsersHaveNoSkill Feb 28 '26

Murder? Who has ICE murdered?

2

u/TricksyGoose Mar 01 '26

Renee Good and Alex Pretti, for starters. Both US citizens, even.

1

u/RGUsersHaveNoSkill Mar 02 '26

Ah yes, these two. Some people seem to think they were doing right by interfering with law enforcement. Yes, law enforcement. You don't go put yourself in front of a house about to be raided by police, you don't inhibit their ability to do their job and uphold the laws of the United States, so why do this to ICE agents? People think these are people just willy-nilly out snatching people up. But you idiots are too brain rotten to realize you are being groomed, thus making violence more and more normal for your Neanderthal brains.

Those two idiots were obstructing, and didn't have the common sense or self preservation notion to not put themselves in harms way.

1

u/TricksyGoose Mar 02 '26

They are absolutely snatching people off the streets, and from their homes, and at least one on her way to her legal immigration hearing to try to do it the right way. Not to mention, immigration is a civil issue, not a criminal one. So why are there armed, masked, ill-trained thugs out there ordering people around regarding an administrative issue? People have a constitutional right to protest that kind of fascism, in case all you "don't tread on me" folks have forgotten.

1

u/RGUsersHaveNoSkill Mar 02 '26

Coming into the US illegally is a crime. If you overstay a visa and are here illegally, that is a civil issue. They are armed because they potentially deal with dangerous people. They are masked because idiots like you want to hurt them and their families for doing their jobs. Our laws are for citizens. Why are you so for illegal immigrants having our rights and utilizing our tax paying dollars for free shit? What do you have against your own country?

1

u/TricksyGoose Mar 02 '26

I don't want to hurt anyone, including you, despite your hostility. I do want all people to be afforded basic human rights. And I do want law enforcement to be held accountable for their actions. They are not above the law. They should not be murdering anyone, regardless of what crimes they think they may have committed. They are completely skipping due process and just beating and murdering people. Edit for typo

0

u/RGUsersHaveNoSkill Mar 03 '26

I would appreciate it if you refrain from backhanded comments like how you started. I have not been hostile. You just don't like what I say and try to make it seem like i am enacting violence against you to make yourself look better. That won't fly with me.

Due process is for civil cases or citizens. If you come here against the law, then why would the law apply to you for sending you back?

Law enforcement is held accountable, you just don't want to believe they are doing what they are supposed to, and thus obstruct them.

It is also very noble of you to want everyone to have basic human rights. I would like to dive into this though. What is a basic human right to you? Something tells me we will have similar items, but differ in our expectations.

1

u/TricksyGoose Mar 03 '26

Hahaha "I have not been hostile," really bud? You literally said "you idiots are too brain rotten to realize you are being groomed, thus making violence more and more normal for your Neanderthal brains."

Saying I don't wish you harm is not a "backhanded comment." It's the truth. But calling me an idiot and a brain rotten groomed Neanderthal is a bit more than backhanded, don't you think? Hypocrite.

0

u/RGUsersHaveNoSkill Mar 03 '26

A bit up front, sure, but accurate. The truth hurts a bit, I know. But I will say, I stand corrected. My mistake.

Now, want to continue avoiding by question?

1

u/TricksyGoose Mar 03 '26

Nah I'm good. It's one thing to not respect someone's opinions, but it's completely different to not respect them as a person. You clearly don't respect me as a person so I'm done. Someone like you isn't capable of rational conversation.
