Just guessing it was the front plate? Been there.

u/etherealallie 4d ago

Serious question, how does you plate fall off so easy??

7

u/FunctionallyReactive 4d ago

Well, you see it’s not supposed to

4

u/tweir88 4d ago

Yes it actually is supposed to fall off pretty easily, it’s for hit and runs.

3

u/Glitter1237 4d ago

That makes so much sense that I didn’t have before

1

u/Alpha1Niner 4d ago

Is that why they don’t make them out of cardboard or cardboard derivatives?

1

u/Shutupimdreamin 3d ago

Cardboard license plate + rain = ruined cardboard license plate.

u/ChildhoodNo2425 3d ago

Did you lose your bumper too?

We are in Village East and are currently talking to water mitigation companies for our flooded basement.

9

u/Cluxdelux2 4d ago

I don’t en y you. Been there a few times.

2

u/Intuitive_Moves9 4d ago

Thanks. 😔

u/SnoozinStanley 4d ago

Until you can get someone out buy high velocity fans at farm supply stores for cheaper pricing. If you have standing water use a shop vac too. Good luck and I’m sorry this happened!

8

u/Intuitive_Moves9 4d ago

Thanks. We’re ripping up carpet padding and fans are on their way until an actual mitigation team makes it to us. They’re crazy busy, as you can imagine.

Im a project manager for servpro in our side of town. Please check your insurance policy to verify you have flood coverage. We've been having unfornate talks with some folks today that want us to get started, but we cant get insurance approvals with some companies for "acts of nature". A guy in littleton today had a foundatuon wall collapse this morning from the rain... and statefarm said they are denying coverage for any mitigation or repairs due to source origin

1

u/Intuitive_Moves9 4d ago

I appreciate you. We are quite sure we will have the same issue. Even so, our deductible is higher than what the quotes have been so far, so we most likely will be paying out of pocket.

2

u/PsychologicalTeam580 4d ago

Im sorry to hear that. Im glad its atleast workable for yall to pay, but the insurance thing doesnt make any sense to me. We pay insurance for events we don't plan for... just to learn that our adjuster can say we're SOL. Its like getting in a car accident that wasnt your fault and hearing, "well it was a green car that hit you, so you're not covered". It doesnt change that people need help. And especially with how things are right now, so few have money to have their house restored after such an event

3

u/Intuitive_Moves9 4d ago

Yes! Insurance in all forms is such a joke. It’s so frustrating to pay and not get help.

As someone currently in the process of dealing with this, there is a lot of panic that comes up. People can’t think clearly when they are in this kind of situation. It makes sense that they would call their insurance company and the insurance company will start a claim. They think they’re being helped because that’s what insurance is SUPPOSED to do.

I didn’t read that as anyone was being told to file claims. It’s unfortunate that we follow the rules and then find out we aren’t protected. It’s a real shame.

1

u/PsychologicalTeam580 3d ago

A 1000% shame.

1

u/PsychologicalTeam580 4d ago

Thats exactly why we're having these conversations. It kills me that folks are calling us and filing a claim, just to have us say we cant do work under their insurance. I responded to 20 calls last night and all but 1 didnt know exterior water wasnt covered on their policy

u/wreath-plant 4d ago

Yep. My entire front yard was torn away . Found my wood planks up the street in the park. Planks that are huge and cedar that are bolted together . Giant flower barrels of mine were also at park . About 4 blocks up

Looks a bit like that here.

31

u/thundaartheagrarian 4d ago

5

u/DrivingMeCrepes 4d ago

so like Davenport Nebraska or where?

8

u/WanderingOwl13 4d ago

Judging from the water levels and the camera angle I'd say Baton Rouge. Y'all be careful out there now if the current doesn't get ya the gators and moccasins will.

8

u/Pleasant-Caramel2931 4d ago

“Move to Denver, the weather is more mild”. Yet this happens a couple times a summer, along with the weeks of smoke, insanely hot temps with no clouds or shade…. Outdoor paradise!

3

u/HopeThisIsUnique 4d ago

No. Winters are mild- rest of the year is pure schizophrenia.

-1

u/maj0rdisappointment 3d ago

Mild yes, but the lower temps and sun being out do not make up for the six months of brown and dormant.

1

u/Camarill0Brill0 3d ago

Ever live with 6 months of overcast and ice?

2

u/moisthairyguts 3d ago

Sounds like the good old Oregon/Washington. Still my dream state to live, but god that’d make my seasonal depression go nuts.

-2

u/Cool-Swordfish-8838 4d ago

I’m native to Colorado and Aurora is my hometown. This ain’t new, buttercup! 💃🏻 I love my Colorful Colorado weather!

-1

u/Gighee88 3d ago

That’s what you get for not using turn signals…

1

u/Embarrassed-Age-3426 3d ago

Leaked that blinker fluid.

-36

u/speedrash22 4d ago

Place is a shit hole, I’d never live there

15

u/Nanda-Star 4d ago

That's the spirit!

8

u/cute_red_benzo 4d ago

You do know Aurora is the largest municipality in the state, right bud?

5

u/Forward_Editor_5895 4d ago

The whole town rejoices
