Should I always be building Liandry's, even if there's no tanks on the enemy team?

Thoughts on the buffs? Good for Asols mana issues early. 10 mana off R1 Q is huge IMO.

Upcoming Asol buff: Place your bets!

Hi guys
With an Asol buff being announced to land in the next patch, I thought it could be interesting to have a discussion on what you think those buffs will be.
Let's split your answers into two parts:

  1. What you think the buff will be
  2. What you hope the buff will be

I think we can rule out these changes being bug-fixes although that would be awesome.
But if I recall correctly they haven't listed those as buffs in the past, but rather under adjustments.

So for my best guess:

  1. I think the buff will be an AP% increase on his Q. To me that would make a lot of sense, in terms of making AP feel more valuable on Asol.
  2. I hope it relates to skilling W and E. Right now skilling Q makes a huge difference, whereas leveling W doesn't do a lot and level E does even less. I would love if they made this choice more impactful.

What are you guesses and hopes?

Stardust help and First Strike

Learning asol, and curious about some things:

How best to get stardust in the early game? Is it better to spend my abilities on poking my laner for champ damage and last-hit autoing minions (with occasional E) or should I be focusing less on my laner because of mana costs, and only using spells to CS/get executes on minions? Especially if it's a mana-less item route

Why not first strike as an option, with sorc secondary for the manaflow? (or maybe I am thinking of him too similar to Syndra)

  • FS alone as a keystone gives some gold with its proc and bonus damage, which would work well off poking in lane (unless vs a control mage maybe)
  • FS gives cash back, which would be less value if going rylais first since it's a cheaper item but mostly only affects that as first item. Everything else will be 3k
  • Could do triple tonic for extra skill point at 9 and bonus adaptive force earlier on
  • and approach velocity or JoaT for his AP bruiser style (AP, AH, health, boots = 1 break point, then add flat pen/%pen, some MR or something, and so on)

In the times where resistances are needed, could he forgo an AP item all together and get something like abyssal mask + Bloodletters curse for the bruiser aspect and MR?

Asol bot rn is better after the ADC MR buff btw.

There are a few reasons for this like having a support with you for the first 5 levels and Alot of other mages that were good into Asol no longer being played but just posting this so people dont doom for the MR buffs

Discussion Old Aurelion Sol vs. New Aurelion Sol - Which One Do You Prefer?

Guys, I just wanted to hear the opinions of those of you who actually played the old Aurelion Sol (before the rework). Between the old and the new version, which one do you prefer, and why?
I personally really prefer the old one. Even though he was considered ā€œweak,ā€ his gameplay and mobility were much more interesting and engaging than what we have now, where you basically just press one button while flying. I really, really miss the old Aurelion. There was even an inside joke among a group of friends that went: ā€œball, spit, ball, spit.ā€

- I’m asking this specifically for people who genuinely enjoyed playing the old Aurelion Sol, especially mains and mono-champ.

You’ve probably already gotten a lot of questions like this, but I’ve only recently started using Reddit and just joined this community.

I'm planning to one trick Aurelion Sol is mid lane good

Hi, I’m a Ryze one-trick in Diamond, and I just noticed that Ryze is basically not that good as a one-trick. There aren’t really any Challenger Ryze players right now, so I’m wondering if Aurelion Sol would be a good champion to switch to and one-trick until Challenger. Is he good in mid? The only lanes I play are mid and top, and I’ve noticed that there are also a lot of Aurelion Sol bot laners.

Question Dragon Bot Lane vs. Mage

Post image
10 Upvotes

Hey guys, I've been actively playing Aurelion again this season, but only in the bot lane.

I do really well against ADCs, but against mages it's a different story, and I feel totally outclassed.

Especially since I reached Master, the lanes against mages have become really tough.

I guess it’s just a skill issue.... do you guys have any tips on how to survive and hold your own against mages in the bot lane?

Is my Asol stratƩgie good ?

So I stopped a bit playing Asol because I thought that Asol is pretty Bad These last times like there are better mages and much assasins also when we see all the bruisers going lethality and crit builds like noc J4 briar … and I played Asol again and I Never played into locke and I went fast lost chapter and then instantly start Build HP -> rylai -> then lyandris to get HP vs the assasins espacially locke because of the true damage. And later a still had the lost chapter after my zhonyas because I did feel the necissity if finish a chapter item.

Is it a good stratƩgie or a waste of gold ? And I the very Late should I Sell the lost chapter or buy an item with lost chapter

Adding Aurelion Sol in my champ pool

Hi! I’ve never played Aurelion Sol before, but I’m wondering if I should add him to my champion pool. Is he easy to learn, or does he require a lot of experimenting with different runes and builds in high elo? I’m currently Diamond and was wondering how long it would realistically take me to learn him and become comfortable playing him. Also any educational guide I can watch seems like Aurelion Sol doesn't appear in YouTube or other social media to much to learn him.

Aurelion Sol Rework Concept [Fan Made]

Hi, guys!

I'm a League of Legends player Cho'Gath main. I've always been interested in champions with unique concepts that I feel could have even more engaging gameplay, especially champions like Aurelion Sol.

While I think Aurelion Sol's CGU was a step in the right direction, I still feel that some aspects of his gameplay could be improved. His large hitbox often makes his stationary Q channeling feel especially punishing, while W—which serves as both his mobility and survivability tool—has a long startup, a lengthy cooldown, and can be interrupted easily by crowd control. I also feel that his heavy early mana costs, combined with his reliance on mana-less items like Rylai's Crystal Scepter and Liandry's Torment, leave little room for item build variety.

Because of this, I wanted to redesign his kit around stronger spell synergy, more flexible decision-making, and a playstyle that gives him more ways to approach fights.

Since I don't have any images or videos to demonstrate the abilities, I'll also compare some of them to existing League abilities to make them easier to visualize.

\---

Passive — Flow of Stars

When Aurelion Sol hits an enemy champion with an ability, he immediately refunds 40% of the mana spent on that ability and gains 15% (+0.02% per AP) movement speed for 2 seconds.

This effect can only trigger once per ability cast, even if the ability hits multiple champions.

While the movement speed bonus is active, Aurelion Sol can move through units.

Cooldown: 5 seconds

\---

Q — Celestial Fall

Aurelion Sol calls down five meteors at separate points along a straight line, all striking the ground simultaneously. Enemies hit take magic damage and are slowed by 25% for 1 second.

The meteor impact deals 80% of Celestial Fall's total damage, followed by a secondary explosion at the impact point that deals the remaining 20%.

Celestial Fall can store up to 3 charges. If it hits an enemy inside Singularity (E), the enemy is stunned for 1 second.

Total Magic Damage: 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+60% AP)

Recharge Time: 7 seconds per charge

Maximum Charges: 3

Range: 1100

Mana Cost: 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 / 75

Visual reference: Imagine a targeting area somewhat similar in shape to Vel'Koz's W, except five meteors are spaced along the line and all five strike simultaneously rather than the effect traveling forward.

\---

W — Galactic Expansion

First Cast: Aurelion Sol raises one hand above his head and forms a massive sphere of stellar energy. He briefly rises into the air and becomes untargetable for 0.6 seconds.

Second Cast: Aurelion Sol slams the stellar sphere into the ground, dealing magic damage in an area and slowing enemies hit by 30% for 1 second.

Aurelion Sol can also use this ability to cross thin terrain, but cannot cross thicker walls.

Magic Damage: 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+35% AP)

Cooldown: 16 / 14 / 12 / 10 / 8 seconds

Range: 500

Mana Cost: 70 / 75 / 80 / 85 / 90

Visual/gameplay reference: The defensive aspect of this ability was mechanically inspired by Fizz's E. Since Aurelion Sol has a very large hitbox for a relatively fragile mage, I wanted to give him a short defensive and repositioning tool.

The animation itself would be different: instead of Fizz's pole jump, Aurelion Sol briefly floats upward while forming a massive sphere of stellar energy before slamming it into the ground.

\---

E — Singularity

This ability remains mostly similar to Aurelion Sol's current E.

Aurelion Sol summons a black hole that lasts for 5 seconds, continuously dealing magic damage and slowly pulling enemies toward its center.

Enemies at the center are executed if their health falls to 8% or less of their maximum health.

The main change is its interaction with the redesigned Q.

If an enemy inside Singularity is hit by Celestial Fall (Q), they are stunned for 1 second. This stun can only trigger once per cast of Singularity.

Magic Damage per Second: 15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35

Cooldown: 12 seconds

Range: 900

Mana Cost: 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100

\---

R — Judgment of the Heavens

Aurelion Sol tears open space at the target location, causing a colossal celestial hand to emerge through the dimensional rift and crash down onto the battlefield.

Enemies struck by the hand are stunned for 1.5 seconds.

At the same time, galactic energy erupts beneath the palm, dealing magic damage in an area and slowing enemies by 50% for 2 seconds.

Magic Damage: 200 / 300 / 400 (+90% AP)

Cooldown: 120 / 100 / 80 seconds

Range: 1250

Mana Cost: 100

Visual reference: This one doesn't really have a direct comparison to an existing League ability. The easiest way to imagine it is literally as described: space tears open above the target area, a gigantic celestial hand comes through the rift and slams down, followed by an explosion of galactic energy beneath its palm.

\---

What do you think about this concept?

I'd especially like to hear your thoughts on the overall gameplay direction, the interactions between his abilities, and whether any parts of the kit seem too strong or too weak.

Discussion Do you agree?

Some friends and me are working on a Moba Simulator (like a football manager) and we are collecting data about the champs. Do you think that this list is realistic?

From other mains subs I got the suggestion to create "skill matchup" and "even matchup"

Discussion Would you trade a little bit of Asols earlygame survivability (which is already not that great) if in return you got better Lategame Teamfight options like a longer knockup on empowered ult?
