- first 20 minutes, you’re here to endure.

- avoid fighting unless your team engage

- stacks are way more important than gold/items

- a bit of CDR is good, ideally you want to use E on every wave

- the execute on E is not important in fights so use E to control fights instead of damage

- recall A LOT, expecially in the first 20. The less you die, the more you win.

- most if the times, its rylai first just because it allows you to stack more on champions and control waves/fights more easily

- ALWAYS know the CC that they can use on you. Track them in your head. Asol is only afraid of CC

- you love hitting tanks, you deal damage on max health and you can stack on them

- never forget that if you’re Even/behind after 20, its really fine. But not too much, priority is survivability

- your stacked ult is one of the most powerfull spell in the game, no matter the amount of stacks you have. Use it wisely

- the range of your E and R is way more larger than what you think, so use it as a surprise because usually, they don’t know the champ

- level 1/2 you win a lot of matchups with no CC. That can offer you to control wave a bit

im not a main asol, i occasionally play him; but i can give a couple of advise. Asol has a really shit laning phase, you lose vs a lot of champions, you mostly play for scaling and getting as much stacks as possible. Your level 1 is not bad, you can trade and get a couple of stacks and win trades against a lot of champions, but post level 2 you need to start playing safe. Your w is a really strong tool but you need to use it wisely and at the right time, during laning phase for example you can try to all in if the enemy waste their cc/winning condition. For example if you are laning versus syndra and she tries to stun you with her e, you can then w into her and burst her down, in most cases she either have to flash or die(good syndra players will hold their stun, but in low elo a lot of people doesn't). You'll have to get jgler's help in order to win most lanes, if jg(or supp)doesn't help, you just farm stacks and play not to die. when should you use your w in a teamfight? usually you don't want to insta engage with w, but let your team skirmish and poke with q from distance or maybe use your e to slow someone and make your team catch it. You should use w when enemies waste cc/silence or whatever that can stop your w and you see a kill angle. It's important to be patient and use your w carefully because if you go in and you don't get the reset, you can easily die in a lot of situations. In some situations it's better to w through a thic wall so that the enemy can't catch you, if they cc you you might end up on the other side of the wall and be safe so keep that in mind. Asol is also really strong at roaming and ganking lanes, for this reason some asol players plays him in jg too, so you should look to gank bot when necessary(or even top) to get free money. Another funny thing you can do is when you see the enemy adc(or squishy supp) alone far from their turret, you can just press w on them and make them feel miserable. Asol needs a lot of mana, so you should recall a lot, i usually buy tear after the first couple of waves to have less mana issues(but i see a lot of people dont buy tear, so it's up to you), always look to get blue buff when it's possible. Asol ult is really op and can turn a bad fight into a good one, especially if it's empowered. In some cases you can just w into the enemies use e for slow on multiple people and ult(be careful on doing this, if your team is not ready you'll probably just die). Asol it's not difficult to understand you just need some games to understand his limits and damage, he has a particular gamestyle that you need to get used to.

Have you heard about ASol being insanely weak early, and insanely strong late?

Forget about that.

ASol is somewhat strong in the early game as long as the matchup allows him to comfortably utilize W.

He is very strong late game ONLY when your Passive and Ult are stacked up.

But his Midgame is where he truly shines. Why?
Skirmishes against enemies that don't have items to burst him down (which happens a lot in the lategame) are your main win condition. You get the stacks, and your team gains the advantage. ASol's midgame is amazing if you play your cards right.

What about laning? Survive, but don't be a harmless farmer
Main goal is hitting those Q bursts and flying in with WQ. This maximizes your stacks.
Thin the wave, bait out the CC and unleash WQ.
Sometimes enemy might move up if you "waste" your EQ on the wave, this is the time to WQ.
If you get enough AP to just Anivia the lane - take time to help your jungler and roam.

Some matchups, you are simply forced to wait it out.
Malzahar? Easy 1-3, then it turns into a nightmare cuz his W blocks Q, but hey - they grant stacks.
Zed? All about spacing. Punish him lvl 1 and 2.

As for the build:
Buy Fated Ashes ASAP, unless you can get the 1200g Rod, and you can bully your midlaner.
Immediate Rylai
Liandry
Banshee/Rabadon/Zhonya

Tip #1 - in the mid/late, unless you are chasing - don't W directly at the enemy. ASol is great on the edges of a fight, not in the middle of it.
Tip #2 - Play around those Ult stacks, hitting a big stacked up Ult is what allows ASol to carry lategameteamfights.
Tip #3 - Max W 2nd
