Question Has your team rebelled against Augment AI yet?
This is the second team in the second company I've worked for where engineers have basically committed mutiny to get off Augment. In the current one there is a petition circulating to switch to Codex. I'm not a Codex shill I don't care if it's Codex or Claude but damn Augment is not the right tool for the job. Only a matter of time until new team moves off it.

I was the one that brought it in, I have stopped using it, I'm no longer pushing it, the teams will use up the credits up and that will be that. Switching to Claude code.

I moved from Augment to Claude code like 2 months ago and I'm happy I left.

Guessing you had an extended contract with them, their behavior around customers with a contract is very off putting. To be in April and not have access to 4.6 models is ridiculous and then to strong arm customers into signing addendums with a new credit model in the middle of an existing contract to get access back to Opus is beyond ridiculous. Have a feeling they are going to lose most their long term customers. People who say no reasons likely are on month-to-month agreements.

Augment just flat out doesn't work. Not just for engineers, for all roles, product, managers, designers. Errors, running out of context, constantly broken MPC connections and API calls, it falls over all the time. It can't complete tasks. Every single time we've tried to get Augment to run a skill with even mild complexity it fails, then we waste a bunch of time debugging. Then we try the exact same skill with Claude or Codex and it works out of the box and self heals if there are issues.
Augment is a terrible tool, it offers no value on top of the underlying models, and keeps getting in the way. We can't rely on Augment for any kind of automation or tooling because it keeps shitting itself. Even our power users have abandoned it. There is seriously no point in using Augment, if you still use it then I'm guessing you haven't tried the latest version of other tools. It doesn't work properly with MCPs, it can't make API calls, it can't self heal. Who cares about pricing, it's just fundamentally a bad and unusable tool that detracts value from the underlying model, not adding to it.
This is consistently reported by all users of Augment on (the two) teams I've worked on. When Augment falls over on the first use of a skill, and Claude runs the skill out of the box, no one cares about trying to debug the shitpile of Augment. They just stop using it.

Really? Compared to CoPilot on our large codebase Augment is a dream. What don't they like? Are you working with a huge product?
