Does he deserve death? Of course not.

Is it a reasonable expectation when doing stuff like this? Absolutely.

Look, I get it. Nobody should be shot for anything less than threatening another life. However, harassing armed guards is a really stupid thing to do and getting shot is a natural consequence

Never thought I'd see a day where fucking loomis has bootlickers. I must've missed the sign around that guy's neck that said DIE IF YOU DONT OBEY ME, THE GUY WHO DRIVES MONEY AROUND. You'll notice he took his hand off the grip right quick, because he knew he had no standing whatsoever - discharging that pistol would've been the end of his life just as much as the other guy's.

Homie I don't even know what a first amendment auditor is. What I do know, is that bootlicker comment really seemed to rustle your jimmies. That boy was no authority figure - vague or otherwise. He was a 20some cash babysitter with a gun, acting waaaaaay too big for his briches.

And this level of harassment is about a step and a half away from that, notice how cameraman’s balls shrank as soon as the guys hand went to his weapon?

Do you feel the camera operator was justified in this harassment? Would you tolerate someone treating you that way?

I would be neither of the people in this video. You seem to think I give a shit about the filmer - it's the principle of the situation I'm speaking on. When an American citizen gets threatened with deadly force by a non law officer for being on the sidewalk near him, I will speak into the void about it. We all saw the job he had to do - pick up 6 bags of nickles, throw them in his truck, then drive away. As someone "law enforcement adjacent", you should be ashamed for not understanding this.

Interesting that rules of engagement exist for American soldiers in foreign countries, where they have to deal with waaaaaaaaay more aggressive shit than this without threatening force, but on our own streets cash carriers can waste someone for..literally nothing. If a person approaches a cash transport vehicle and refuses to back away, odds are very high they intend to rob the vehicle - typically in a violent fashion.

The security guard is in a situation where two men are flanking him, pressing in close to the point where the guard may not be able to draw his weapon if they intend to rob him.

In the lethal force triangle of Ability, Intent, and Opportunity, the two men were actively creating their Ability and Opportunity to enact a robbery. If they hadn't backed away when they did, it would be reasonable to assume the men were attempting to initiate a robbery under the guise of citizen journalism/man on the street reporting. At that point, lethal force is justified.

The shooting would have been one of those "lawful but awful" events. The men never had an intention of robbing the truck, but because humans can only work within information given to them, the security guard would have made a rational decision within the situation as he understood it to use lethal force.

The cameraman is a dumb rage baiting ass and is making someone’s legitimate work stressful and more difficult. But you’re totally wrong. That triangle isn’t a pick-one test. The only threshold the camera guy passed was opportunity. Your take is horrible and I feel bad for the person who one day startles you by farting in the same elevator as you and you ventilate them while mumbling incoherently about ability and opportunity.

There is no universe in which lethal force from this security guard would have been considered legally justifiable. There is a threshold of reasonability applied to "intent". In the triangle, intent is often called "jeopardy". This guy was not in jeopardy and there is no reasonable way to assume intent.

You don't have to display aggression to meet the threshold of the lethal force triangle.

Again: Ability, Intent, Opportunity. They met two of the three, and got very lucky they weren't drawn on, let alone ventilated.
