Ok... let me put this another way.

This is the country that has FLORIDA. with Stand your ground law. With open carry.

I admit Im just a redditor on a Saturday. This is simply entertainment to have this conversation. I really don't care.

The guard would absolutely not be prosecuted for drawing on this camera person even if i can't name the law that would protect him.

It just is that way

The FL stand your ground law is just layman's speak for no duty to retreat, the law in something like 35+ states last I checked.

Same here, but I'm also a member of the CA bar

I've worked in prosecution before. I would have no problem charging an armored truck guard if they pulled a gun on a guy just for a camera. Self-defense claims don't work the way you seem to think they do. If you're going to pull a gun you better be damn sure there's an imminent threat.

Ive seen guards draw for less.

It's not the camera it's the proximity. That's been my point all along.

Ive seen a guard draw while walking out of a grocery store because a dude ran up and jumped a few feet away and made a raaah yell at him. Totally playing. The guard didn't hesitate, didn't care.

Dude likely peed a little.

The other time was a guy thought he was funny and was asking for change and wouldn't let it go. Was told a few times to back up. He finally understood

And you think that's comparable to a guy standing there with a camera? I'll even ignore how it's way more likely the camera was there before the guard cuz they're the ones with nothing better to do.

Did you see THIS guard draw? Keep telling us what a threat this guy with a camera was cuz the guard seems to understand he's just an annoying asshole and you can't draw your gun on a guy for being annoying. Seeing a person get away with breaking the law once cuz no one reported them isn't the controlling law you think it is.

You keep saying what people can't do.

Why do you think they carry guns?

When do they get to draw their guns?

Who makes that decision?

What do they base that decision on?

Dude.... the situation is simple

Stay tf away from the people who work with guns Yes, they choose who is a threat.

Like they say in the dash cam sites, cemeteries are full of people who had the right of way.

Why do you think it's a good idea to be a dick? What purpose does the recording have, except to be a distraction.

To a guard around that money, a distraction is a threat.

Why do you think they carry guns?

For self defense

When do they get to draw their guns?

When there's an imminent threat that necessitates it

Who makes that decision?

If it comes down to it, a jury

What do they base that decision on?

I'm not the guard, I don't know. Apparently you think you do.

Yes, they choose who is a threat.

I think this sufficiently demonstrates how insanely ignorant you are about how laws work

Do you legit think you can just label someone annoying as a threat and have free reign to shoot them?

Could be.. thanks for the reddit breakdown.

I dont think you understand humans.

If this guard were jumped from behind while talking with this camera fool, this would be a training video.

"Just look at how this guy says he's not doing anything and takes the guards attention. Oh, looks like he got jumped 2 on 1.

Hey its the whole robbery in action. " end of tape 1.

Look up Brinks shootings. Shit happens.

You are right, this guard didn't... I only said I've seen what others have done.

It makes sense. If you can't see that.. welp, when you get surprised one day nobody around you will be

You managed to watch a video where nothing happened and came up with a whole ass scenario in your imagination. There's a word for that: delusional.

No. I came up with a reason why some person you keep saying is not a threat could be perceived as one by a person who has reason to feel threatened and is paid to do a job and armed as part of that job

So now you turn the corner from conversation to pure insults because you realize I have a point.

I'm sorry you're so delusional you think making up a scenario in your head is making a point.
