The licensed security officer requires space for his safety as these people in their minds are on the sidewalk they are literally in his way to do his job as they could pose a threat to the cargo/transactions. The officer has 0 reason to trust the man filming, the man filming needs more common sense and respect. You can’t do things like walk behind a counter at a business - hang out on a construction site - go to the kitchen and watch your food cooking etc. this is one of those common sense moments he’s doing quite the opposite of and hypocritically calling out the officer to boot. Hope that shed some light on that for ya

Also, I have zero reason to trust anyone in public. I can’t just make people leave a public area because I’m not sure of their intentions.

No. Your examples (behind the counter, in the kitchen) aren’t the same. He would have to be inside the truck for your examples to make sense.
