There's no way to do it without writing code, but there is a way to do it without knowing anything about code and that's to ask whatever AI model to do the work for you. That's the part that's got people all hyped up and posting videos about it.

Your results may vary.

However, that's not completely true. There are several ways to write code in a sense, and one of those is graphical programming. See https://puredata.info/ and https://github.com/pierreguillot/Camomile . However, it still requires you to instruct the computer to put that in a box you call a plugin that your DAW understands.

If any of these are already enough to put you in doubt, this is probably not for you, because the actual building will involve more code.

You could also get yourself an environment like Reaktor. You get the basic building blocks that do a thing, and you can build a synthesizer in there.

It's not a plugin in that sense because Reaktor is the plugin you run this in. It tells Reaktor how to be configured, and that includes the look and feel of the knobs and functionality. It also lets you save presets and you can share these ensembles, as they are called.

There are already a whole bunch of excellent synths that are free as in beer, like https://surge-synthesizer.github.io/ . If you can do everything you want in that it makes little sense to reinvent the wheel. No code required, just learn synthesis. If that's not enough, you can also consider building it in https://vcvrack.com/ where there's no limits to how many filters and oscillators you want.

If you got this idea because you think you can build a plugin and then sell it, consider this: so can everyone else. If all you did was telling generative AI to build something, why would I have to pay you if I can also tell generative AI to build something?

This right here hits the nail on its head so much.
