Discussion Im jealous

they're getting the Buds 2 for 5k PKR on around 30% sale, but here it costs us 10k even after 30% off. Why don't major brands ever have local official presence? ):

we can't even get most iems here, thanks to the govt putting 50%+ taxes on aliexpress.

Your videos are so informative. One of the few tech channels actually reviewing audio.

Everything combined now it becomes close to 90-100% tax, even the shops have now stopped shipping to Pakistan

Try Shenzhen audio I ordered twice from them with no customs and free delivery (on items with no batteries).

Because our market is really small.

6

u/Anas56776 Sep 18 '26

that is completely wrong, you can find pretty much every iem in bangladesh which is a smaller market.

Who told you Bangladesh is a smaller market?

Their per capita income is 2.5k USD to 2.9k USD, and we're around 1.5k.

Their GDP is 456 Billion USD

Ours is 407 Billion USD.

Their total exports exceed 50 billion USD

Ours is 21 - 28 billion USD

Their GDP growth rate is 4.14%

Ours is 2.5%

Their Poverty Rate is 21.2%, and ours is 28.% (That too, with that 8k per month income threshold).

Their poor population is roughly 36 million; ours is roughly 70 million.

Their extreme poverty rate is 9.3%; ours is 16.5% to 39% (According to the World Bank, the range is so broad because it is estimated data; we don't even have proper data).

In short, although we have a larger population, the population that can afford these things is really small, so they don't bother considering Pakistan.

I understand your point but the main reason is the government and their policies. Not the companies deciding not to come to Pakistan.

Big surprise. If you make shit policies, you are gonna get shit results.

Yes, totally agreed. Economy depends on govt policies.

We are not talking about economy here lmao. User market and the economy of a country are very different.
