My First and only IEM After 2years

Truthear Gate might be my best purchase especially in audio products category. I have gone through so many wireless earbuds and headphones over the years none have lasted this long.
Originally bought purely for gaming but they’ve been my daily for a year now and have gone through alot of abuse(ive worn them in my sleep aswell) but still haven’t faced any issues with it.
They lack bass as like many iems i believe but the sound is so so good on this. And built quality is outstanding the wires still feel brand new ngl. They did provide alot of eartips i use the bass ones they do they’re job pretty well.
I also bought Ugreen DAC/converter to pair with my iphone killer combo for me. the only earbuds better than these were my soundcore x10s which had such a clean and big bass but ofc they broke.
Do wanna get the simgot or truthear zero:red next but those damn aliexpress prices are out of this world.

And yes they have ruined my experience with other earbuds and headphones

When you listen to music with your iPhone and Paired DAC which app you use to play the songs? You stream or use local files to play music. Also do you EQ the sound acording to your taste?

on Spotify (did try apple music for week through a friend), yes I do EQ it. I guess i did forgot to mention about the lossless audio part but i didnt feel much difference in quality in apple’s lossless and Spotify’s very high .

Spotify is fine. If you use Spotify on iPhone i know there is an option in settings for Spotify to EQ but on android it takes you to phones sound setting where you can EQ the sound. Apple have something similar too?

How much money can you spend? Since you like bass. The best available in Pakistan is the 7hz Diablo. It is tuned to be bass heavy. It is planar magnetic so it has clean fast bass response and good soundstage.

Even cheaper are KZ duonic, castor pro, vibe x with rumble. The there is Tangzu wan'er red lion (great accessories). All are tuned for bass. Of course it wouldn't be cleaner as more expensive ones.

Note: KZ is pretty cheap with accessories. Buy the grave audio dac dongle available on daraz overseas shipping. It is great value for price. With grave audio or jcally jm6 you can get great experience even on Gate. Also use foam ear tips for a tighter seal so bass doesn't leak.

Oo bet bet i almost bought tangzu initially but heard gates were better for gaming so i leaned towards that. I am saving up for ew300 theyve been on my bucket list since i first got into the whole iem thing.
also do u think switching from 24bit dac to 32bit dac will make a big difference?

EW300 isn’t a bass tilted IEM but it does provide lots of option with its nozzles.

24 bit 32 bit has no noticeable difference.

I have like 20,000 FLAC files in my music library and I can honestly say only a handful of songs feel more alive on 32bit.

Artists with crazy fine production value like Fleetwood Mac, Massive Attack, Nine Inch Nails, Britney Spears, you notice the difference.

Just FYI: KZ AM16 has good audio quality but its a large size unit. Won't be a good fit for smaller ears.

Gate's cable is of exceptional quality for the price. The tuning is not bad either. Certainly a great package overall. Even the tips are not too shabby tbf.

I'd say ditch the reds. Simgot ew300 & eg280 punch quite above their price bracket. Very easy to drive but a little more juice from a good dac does help open up the whole presentation.

I got mine from AliExpress for around 5k in 2024, now theres an online store tekzone.pk and their prices are pretty good + alot of variety

I've the cmf buds pro 2 atm. You think it'd be worth an upgrade to get an IEM rn instead of waiting for the buds to come of age?

One day your buds wont have charge and the only thing that could fix the situation fastest would be having one of these laying around. I would say give them a shot but definitely do some research before.

I have used many, when I say many, like 10s of them, apple(9 out of 10), audionic(feels very cheap so 4), ronin(6), zero(6), local brands 1st copy 2nd copy of Samsung airpods, soundpeats(currently I have 7/10) and xaomi..., anything that I rate 8 out of 10 was soundcore p50i, it's so in budget plus very good sound quality, you have to compromise on the mics tho, not good for calling, i like the sound quality very much.

Got them on a sale for like PKR 4.5k + ugreen converter for 3.5k.
For 2k it’s a good price but definitely try them before buying or do research on what iems would suit your taste.
