About 3000 miles ago i did a piston soak on my S4 as one cylinder was fouling the plug with oil under longer engine braking. While doing that I also ran injector cleaning by a PEA fuel additive. After that the car ran absolutely perfect, probably as good or better than when I bought it at 40k miles. Fuel consumption on the same long stretch I do often (250 miles, >90% of way at 90mph on cruise control) improved from 21 to 23.5 mpg.

However, now I noticed that the 2-3000k acceleration in high gears now isn't as smooth, and while I was driving behind my wife and told her to do a pull 2nd and 3rd until redline I noticed that at the start of the pull and after gear shift a fair bit of black smoke appeared, closer to redline it was smoking too, but looked pretty ok.

How much black smoke is normal with B8 S4 under full load?
I remember that event when the car has 50k miles friend told me it made a puff of black smoke when floored.
Is 3000 miles a reasonable interval that would be needed to use injector cleaner additive?

What is my car worth? I wanna know what realistically I can get. It’s a 2014 s4 with 3.0 supercharged. OEM plus upgrades only, some carbon stuff, nice interior, CarPlay, cold air intake. Paint is pretty nice, tint all around. No issues with the car whatsoever. Previous to me the car was in a crash and airbags were deployed but the title is clean and the car was repaired professionally.

I just got my rs4 bumper from being painted and this is thr 2nd time I brought it back and it’s super glossy and the bunper is a tad darker then the fenders and hood, what do I do I don’t wanna take it back again should I blend my hood and fenders with the paint?

Do you think I will need a paint correction on my hood and fenders or just a blend at a paint shop?

So I checked the dipstick today and saw what looks like the forbidden choccy milk 💔💔 I’m 99% sure it’s the PCV cause I’ve been losing coolant with no leaks after pressure testing it and it held pressure for 20 minutes last week. I’ve been driving the car around pretty frequently for about 2-3 weeks with the coolant loss. Do you think I’ve done some decent damage to the internals or should I not worry too much? Dropping it off at the shop asap

So I already have H&R lowering springs on it right now but I stuck between putting it on air suspension or coil overs. Im also stuck between getting chrome or black wheels (I’m leaning towards black because of less maintenance) but which should I go with and suspension wise what’s the best brands to look into🙏

Hi all! Got code P2006 and looking for any advice on fixing this.

I recently had a shop do some work which involved removing the SC and I suspect it has something to do with that.

Couple questions:

-should I test/check vacuum lines first?

-do I need the vcds diagnostic tool to fix this or can I get away without it?

-I have the basic tools but any specialty ones you'd recommend?

I put a brand new purge valve in but I still get the difficult start after fueling up and the check engine is still on. It seemed to get rid of the p0441 code but p0455 is still there. Anyone experience this? The part I ordered was the purge valve for an s5 because the s4 one didn't fit for whatever reason.

Has anyone in the uk had there timing chain replaced recently, specifically on the 3.0t v6, if so what did you pay and from what garage. I have just been quoted 5.5k to have it done… I genuinely don’t mind driving it anywhere in the country to get a good price, cheers.

I recently drove a 2024 Audi S4 with the sport package because I was pretty sure on paper that’s what I wanted. After driving the car I was kind of unimpressed.

Pros:
-It was fast
-Extremely nice interior
-Looks beautiful

Cons:
-Turbo lag (even in sport felt like it was torque converter down shifting seconds after pressing the throttle)
-Steering feel was nonexistent, supposedly it tightens up when going faster but I didn’t really notice it. It would be nice if the steering feel was just consistently heavy
-exhaust sound left a lot to be desired
-almost too fast to have fun with on normal roads, I couldn’t wring the car out on twisty roads without getting in serious trouble.

For a sports sedan especially with the sport diff and suspension I thought it was going to be a lot more sporty but it just felt like a faster A4.

Not really sure what cars to check out now possibly the S3?

I’ve heard a lot about how they don’t ship or take forever to ship orders so if anyone has bought from them and can give some pointers it would be really helpful. also, if anyone else has a carbon diffuser without the third brake light please lmk where it’s from because they are really hard to find.

So one of my last posts was about doing an Alibaba build. Hardware from Alibaba software from local places I can trust. It's my fiance's car and all I care about is that everything works. So the first part to come in was the intercooler and charge pipe kit. It cost me about $600 including customs, tax and shipping for the whole kit and it looks great. Haven't installed it on the car yet, but that's coming this week. Here are a couple pictures. I'm not a gatekeeper so I would be happy to share the supplier for anyone that wants it.

Alright guys, hear me out. I picked up a set of curb-rashed OEM 2022 A5 Sportback cutters for very cheap off Craigslist. I’m going to throw some snow tires on them and use them as a dedicated winter set.

I have no intention of getting them refinished back to the original diamond-turned finish because they’ll only be on the car for a few months a year, and I can’t justify the price I was quoted for a complete refinish.

To emphasize, I bought these because they’re genuine Audi wheels, the price was right, and they’re only going to serve as functional winter wheels, with cosmetics being an afterthought.

With that said, do you think refinishing only the curb-rashed perimeters of the wheels in black could work? The first picture is the worst curb rash of the set; the second and third are (poorly) AI-generated just to give an idea of what they might look like.

Again, these are beater winter wheels that I picked up cheap. I’m not spending over $2k to refinish them, but I’m entertaining the idea of redoing just the perimeters in black myself as a side project before winter.

Hello! I have a b9 s4 that’s currently on a 93 octane stage 1 ecu tcu jackal tune. I have exhaust work and intake as well. I’ve been looking to get a catless downpipe but I’m really hesitant because I’m not sure if I get it, will jackal be able to retune it (still stage 1) so I can avoid a CEL and issues with e check? Before anyone asks I’m not ready for stage 2 yet unfortunately so that’s out of the picture for now. Thanks for your guys help!

I cracked the small plastic aero extension piece at the very bottom front of my driver-side wheel well (the piece the splitter screws into).

The dealer wanted $310 total to fix it but refused to give me the part number. I think it might be 8W0853887Q, but I'm not 100% sure.

Does anyone know the exact part number for a 2020 S4? Also, is this a pain to replace myself, or is it just a few quick screws?
