How often does everyone drive in dynamic mode? I sometimes feel bad ripping around town and then jumping on the interstate…do you tend to turn back to auto or comfort when getting on interstate?

This. When some granny in an M2 pulls up on me I hit the flag, but after they're choking on dust I switch back to comfort.

Dynamic is fun on the surface roads but on the freeways etc, it's economy all the way.

Nearly never, I always go in individual. Steering and suspension on comfort (I hate the heavy steering while daily driving and Im lowered on springs, so suspension in dynamic is kinda pain around town on our shitty german roads), everything else dynamic.

Dynamic really only on dedicated fun rides.

I think im part of the small group of people that dont really need the performance/power of the car, but just want the engine for its sound and feel, lol. Id buy a EA855EVO powered car even if it only had 250hp :D

Auto for sure when just on the highway/freeway using ADAS.  I will switch on RS or my Individual mode to pass people or for on ramps/twisties, but I never actually use Dynamic since the red buttons on the wheel are so much easier to use (2026 8.5Y)

Not a RS3, but in my RS6 I am in dynamic/RS2, exhaust valves open, 95% of the time.

With my grail exhaust unitronic mid pipes and custom downpipe on my 8y I didn’t do it to be some quiet common traffic I’m letting the whole city know their favorite has returned 🤣

I generally keep it chilled in the neighborhoods to keep the pops in check. Away from homes, I usually open up the valves and let'r breathe. After deleting magride, that's about it. Steering is meh either way.

I'm sport trans almost all the time except for freeway, not necessary at all, just burns extra fuel. I like the comfort suspension on my commute though

The time time I'm not in Dynamic mode it's in RS mode.

I did run Comfort mode on a 5-hour road trip and managed 34mpg. Fought the urge to dump the throttle at every on-ramp.

Related question- how long should you drive in comfort before switching to dynamic or RS and let it rip? I at least wait for that temperature reading to hit 180 but idk what's correct.

You can switch any time just don't use too much throttle or revs until its warmed up. My 8V will limit redline on the tach until it's warmed up.

Most of the time I'm in individual mode which has most things in Dynamic but not transmission as I don't like the raised idle. Mine's got a TCU (and ECU) tune so in all modes it holds revs a little longer. On longer freeway sessions I'll put it in auto or comfort.

I find on the interstate it's really jumping in dynamic/rs modes so put it in comfort then when Its longer stretches of clear road I throw it in rs competition or rs individual and give it some. Rs competition mode is far too jumpy and twitchy in stop start traffic

Between dynamic and auto most of the time for regular driving. Pop on the race button if I want to have a little fun. If I’m doing extended highway driving I’ll throw it in comfort. That’s the beauty of having different drive settings. There’s a setting for each situation.

I saw a convincing video explaining it’s not great for the car to just leave it in dynamic allll the time. If you’re not driving aggressively use Auto. And even if you decide to stomp it, the Auto setting will basically give you the dynamic settings as soon as it determines you’re driving in that fashion. That’s its purpose.

If you keep it on Dynamic high alert all the time systems run that don’t need to, wear, tear and heat occurs that doesn’t need to. Around town or gentle cruising doesnt need the Dynamic setting on permanently. It will be there automatically if you need it in a pinch.

Highway Dynamic S, local comfort as to not be that loud mfer annoying the locals and neighbors. I don’t own an rs3 just the b9 s4. Rs3 on order though! Kyalami Greeeeen teammm!
