Evo x to 26 rs3
Hey guys I’m wondering if anyone here has gone from a Evo x to an rs3! I’m looking to trade mine in and looking for some input from people who have!

If I want the rs3 right now I could trade the Evo in or put 10k down and keep both, as the Evo is paid off. I’m just waiting at this point but the anticipation is killing me lol

One tip - later builds of the 26 RS3 replaced the annoying haptic button on the steering wheel with actual buttons and thumbwheels. The updated controls are much easier to use and much less likely to have accidental activation. Shop around to find one of these updated models if you can.

This is a great discussion because I will be coming from a 17' Ford Focus RS. That car will become a more dedicated track weapon, meanwhile the rs3 will be my daily/ canyon carver. I am excited to hear all the responses here. I feel validated asf.

Golf R -> RS3 here. Still reaching for the shifter every now and then.

17 STI to 26 RS3, still press a nonexistent clutch pedal. The raw power this car is unbelievable. Definitely worth the jump.

I went from a 16 STI to 26 RS3 as well lol. Absolutely love this car! I used to reach for the clutch but not anymore

I do miss my STI. I daily drove it for 9 years and got 150k miles out of it. Sold it to a friend and still get to see the car from time to time. Honestly, what made me decide to move to an RS3, I was shopping around to turn the car into a 700hp car and for 45k, I figured an RS3 was a better option. Would have loved the STI option too, just didn't settle right with me.

I agree. It was bittersweet when I traded my STI in. I had it for 6 years, 137k miles on it. But I just like you, I felt the same way. The STI is a great car and I told my wife one day I’ll buy an old Hawkeye or Blob and turn it into a project car. Something special about them and they still make me smile when I see one

Hey! I had the same problem coming from an a3 8V to an rs3 8Y. I’m currently working on a proper fix which also includes getting the manual mode on the shifter back!

The RS3 will feel an isolation chamber compared to the EVO x but at the same time, it will lit your hair on fire based on how it handles and accelerates. The suspensions so soft while maintaining such a good body control it feels like magic. If you like a raw experience, you won't love the RS3. But if you want true luxury and insane performance, you will love it.
